Don't care for this council but they were ahead of the game in ordering buses with Voith gearboxes. Perfect fit the operating environment. I also liked the projector headlamps.

Oh goody, another Voith enthusiast 8)

The first photo shows an interesting style of desto programming, where capital letters seem to have a larger font and therefore look very out of place. It seems common over east - is there any particular reason for it?

Good to see another who appreciates these marvels in a sea of Ecomat idolisers.
The ZF has too many shifts. A one speed Spicer torque converter transmission with lockup acting as second gave passengers unparalleled tram like smoothness.

It is now about three years since I stopped uploading photos to the photo gallery. I have just restarted - at a slower pace - with the two photos from this thread being the first ones uploaded which are not my own. I wont necessarily be uploading every day

These Parra Loop buses were quite a unique chapter in bus operation history well worth adding there.

A ZF sounds nice, but they're so wildly variable between even the same type of buses. That said, I have a soft spot for the BT L94 CNGs, and O405NH CNG. Not exactly fast by any stretch of the imagination, but on those the gearboxes seemed exceptionally well-behaved.

Thanks for sharing the video too. I suppose the early torque converters were designed for smoother power delivery versus the old crash and semi-automatic types they may have replaced.

Remnants of the branding still exist on what used to be The Loop route. Got quite a surprise to see seats outside Parramatta RSL with The Loop branding on - still - long after the branding disappeared.
