On a trip out today I saw one of the 601 Express liveried buses out on CDC route 605.

I don’t know whether it’s rare to see the route 601 route on another Oakleigh operated route or not but thought it seemed a bit unusual

Route 601 buses (except for #171) do drift elsewhere when the 601 is running at a limited frequency. Very common during summer and the Mid-year break in June/July.

What is the "601 Express livery" referred to? Red ex Metrobus livery?

Fleet Lists, perhaps worth noting that this is CDC Victoria group, not CDC NSW. The 601 express livery referred to here is used on buses on the Huntingdale Station - Monash Uni 601 express shuttle.

Original variant:

New delivery variant (on artic):

I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Oops Sorry I missed that.
I have changed the name of the thread and added the Victoria Icon instead of the NSW one it had.

The 'wandering sheep' 601 livered bus did happen as well back in August 2019; I was just off Queens Bridge getting some photography done when the CR288L in that first pic; #130 came marching by, headed towards Flagstaff on the 605. Looking back nowadays I initially thought 'that is one very lost 601', but considering how Ventura likes to throw their '201' buses around the place and not to mention the de-branding of SmartBus (even though CDC has done a fine job keeping their livered buses in their place), nothing really surprises me anymore since sometimes the depot just sends out whatever spare bus they have.

Dear T80; If the decker's not a Volgren, I'm not interested.
