Noticed St Agnes Depot 246 ex Southlink 2201 out in service today very unusual to see a St Agnes NL 202 out on a Sunday morning shift

It's likely that the allocation was done based on driver preference.

Scania 1385 was out on a late shift around the beginning of this year during the service cuts, and was also out on a Sunday in late September last year.

I thought the government didn't pay for replacements for privately owned vehicles.

Was this planned or a consequence of the fire in Henley Beach earlier?

So buses no longer see 25 years of service then I assume.

When is 2745 (the newest MAN) earmarked for withdrawal?

Anything decent should at least last around 25 years.

25 years is maximum age - there is no requirement to retain the bus in service for that long

There may be no requirement to retain a bus in service for that long but in greace monkey talk it is well known that decent lasts at least 25 years and anything beyond that is good.

How long are the busways loans for rail subs for?

There are now closures and subs everyday until October 2021 from the admet update:

https://adelaidemetro.com.au/Announceme ... res#Future

Temporary partial and full closures of the Gawler rail line are required between October 2020 and October 2021 to facilitate works for the project that cannot be safely undertaken with trains operating in the corridor.

Summary of future Gawler lone closures:

Monday 12 October 2020 to Christmas Day 25 December 2020, inclusive (approx 2.5 months) Partial closure between Adelaide Railway Station and Salisbury Interchange

Boxing Day 26 December 2020 to Monday 25 January 2021, inclusive (approx 1 month) Full line closure, closed Adelaide Railway Station to Gawler Central Railway Station

Australia Day 26 January 2021 to Friday 9 April 2021, inclusive (approx. 2.5 months) Partial closure between Mawson Interchange and Gawler Central Station(April school holidays)

From Saturday 10 April 2021 to Saturday 24 April 2021, inclusive (approx. 2 weeks) Full line closure, closed Adelaide Railway Station to Gawler Central Railway Station

Sunday 25 April 2021 to Friday 2 July 2021, inclusive (approx. 2.5 months) Partial closure between Mawson Interchange and Gawler Central Station

(July school holidays) Saturday 3 July 2021 to Sunday 18 July 2021, inclusive (approx. 2 weeks) Full line closure, closed Adelaide Railway Station to Gawler Central Railway Station

Monday 19 July 2021 to Friday 24 September 2021, inclusive (approx. 2.5 months) Partial closure between Salisbury Interchange and Gawler Central Station

(September school holidays) Saturday 25 September 2021 to Sunday 10 October 2021, inclusive (approx. 2 weeks)
Full line closure, closed Adelaide Railway Station to Gawler Central Railway Station

I realise they have spare buses in school holidays, however school terms coming up will leave them tight on available numbers without coach top up?

Apologies -reformatted for accuracy

I imagine some buses will need to be used for train substitute services on the Harbor and Grange Lines and possibly all lines when wires are put up on the rest of Adelaide Yard
Next station is Victoria Square. Change here for all trains.

The formatting of the list of closures seems to have gone awry.

The full line closures Adelaide - Gawler Central are during the school holidays (Sep/Oct 20, Jan, Apr, July, Sep/Oct 21). The partial closures are at other times and (I guess) will continue to be weekday late evenings and overnight as they have been up to now. So the greatest demand for rail sub buses will be in the school holidays.

Leon Byner on Five aa stated today that Torrens Transit are short of drivers and are forced to use Sealink Coach drivers to help them out.
Of course TT are stretched further with Rail Subs and tomorrow night Footy Express services.
