Tasmanian Bus Observations - JUL > DEC 2019

Post by Tas Bus Nut »

Although not quite July, we'll get this thread started by announcing Tassielink Transit will be taking delivery of 2x Scania K320UB / Express early July.
Word is Manions Coaches have also purchased a new Mercedes Benz O500LE / Express, similar/identical to (O'Driscoll Coaches' #22 delivered a few months ago)
McDermott Coaches are close to receiving their first Hybrid Volvo for the Cradle Mountain Discoverer. Details/photos when it actually arrives.
If you're following the service reviews, the northern review is underway and can be found at this link: transport.tas.gov.au > go to Public Transport then Northern Region Bus Network

Thanks Daniel. Hadn't seen any press release and nothing was mentioned at recent TasBus Conference

Quite a bit on the new bus fleet, particularly here in Hobart.

Tassielink Transit have two Scania K310 / Express - O'Driscoll Coaches Mercedes Benz O500 / Express + Yutong midi - Walker's Coaches Bonluck.

Yutong representative has been touring the state showing operators a new Yutong school / charter bus on offer.

On a sad note, K & D Sims at Sprent have had their school contracts taken from them, leaving 15 out of work.

and for those following Metro acquisitions, they are now up to #846 in the 100 order of Bustech XDis.

871 was reported as arriving earlier this week. Up to 870 in service.
Burnie and Launceston are now all low floor with around 30 high floors remaining in Hobart.
Looks to be on track for the order to be completed by/ around the end of the year.
