Great pics from Ken again. Thx System Improver. One Q? Is the Flxible Clipper for ANA, parked @ Jack Cresswells' in West Hobart ?
I know Merv had a Clipper and did airport (airline) work, but did Jack also. Cheers Neil

9. Ex Capital Road Lines (J Cartin), Cartin bodied Bedford SB3, circa 1960.

I'll leave the identification of the Tasmanian operators to others.

The ex brien's Comair was at Ringarooma - Brown I think.
The Cartin thing was at Sheffield.

I believe the 3rd shot the bus was new to that operator in a very similar livery to Reids

As a Flood, I'm interested in the Ken Flood Collection - Former Victorian Buses and also in who Ken Flood is.
I wonder if anyone could fill me in or point me in the right direction?

I'm interested in the Floods early business as Coach Builders and Wheelrights and as a Bus Company in Bendigo.
1861 - P & E Flood Coach Builders, by 1898 it was named 'E. Flood & Sons Bendigo Coach Factory - Coachbuilders, Wheelwrights and General Blacksmiths'.
The firm was established by brothers Edmund and Patrick Flood in Bridge Street and moved to Hargreaves St, Sandhurst (Bendigo). Next, brothers Thomas and John ran it and later Richard Thomas Flood.

The Floods emigrated from Ireland during the time of the famine, from Ballynakil in Co Galway.
A lot, most, of the descendants are still around Bendigo.
One went to W.A. in the 1890's.

Ken Flood lived in Launceston and, whilst I didn't talk to him too much about his family history, I got the impression that his family had been there for some time. His father, Claude, worked as a motorman on their first trams from 1911.

There are two other "Flood" connections to buses that I am aware of. The first, still in existence, is Flood's Motor Services in Bendigo. John Flood currently runs the business but his grandfather, Tom, started it in the 30s.

The other "Flood" was in Melbourne. James Flood & Co, initially of Stanley Street West Melbourne, constructed car and then bus "charabanc" bodies from the early 1900s.

This Comair Bedford happened to be fueling at the local station in Ringarooma, Tas during a visit in 2005. Possibly Brown [ex Brien's] as per above.
