Sorry, but that is a stupid comment. What does the government have to do with the random action of one person?

There is no suggestion that it was a random action.

If it does involve leaving the doors permanently open, it would be in line with the government policy of reducing high usage touchable surfaces; pedestrian light buttons, tram doors, etc. Presumably T sets would get same treatment?

The doors where closed and they didn't open when I pressed the button at ether end of carriage 7 of the 6:39 Macarthur to city via airport service witch was operated by A35 today on run 85-D

All 4 I caught today had inter-carriage doors operating normally. Most likely a fault with the individual set rather than a policy decision.

It would be a safety hazard if people were to be intentionally locked in their individual carriage and unable to move to other parts of the train, especially in the event of an emergency.

A defect is not intentional. It just happens.

Around half of the T9 northern line trains from 8pm onwards have been deleted from tonight's timetable due to trackwork and construction work at Central(i) meaning that platforms 9-12 aren't in use.
With only 8 platforms available and the CCN, BMT, western line, and northern line trains all starting at the intercity platforms from 8pm onwards, this trackwork timetable couldn't cope - delays on Monday and Tuesday, and every 2nd northern line train cancelled on Wednesday night and tonight.

Approved protest after all, after the ban was overturned at the 11th hour. Estimated over 30 000 at the protest which obviously necessitated the closure of Town Hall Station.

And a lot of problems at Central later on. It appears Eddy Ave was closed, so don't know what happened to bus services.

This isn't a problem since the door can be released using the EDR panel or by opening the panel on the bottom half of the door.

The gangway doors can only be left open like this by turning a key switch in the vestibule, which is normally done when the door is faulty (I heard usually its the flex cable connecting to the door). The announcements are probably to do with the train's software, which is loaded by maintenance. The guard doesn't have anything to do with this.

It was great when the manual switches on Millennium trains did not contain a keyhole. One could actually twist to open faulty doors manually and pass through to the next carriage if the push button or whatever didn't work

I would imagine that the platforms would be more of a problem than the access. I haven't used this station much, but if they are anything like Green Square....

Almost doubling the frequency of services should help reduce the crowding on the platform - a more even spread of incoming patronage, and a more frequent sweep of the platform for outgoing patronage.

The loco water tank at Penrith has been recently enclosed in scaffolding and netting. Wondering if it is being refurbished or demolished?

Although there are watering gantries still in place, these are now fed directly from water mains, not the tank.

NSW TrainLink Blue Mountains Line Weeknightly Trackwork diversion via Sydney Trains Network T3 Bankstown Line results in videos below.

Thought this footage was somewhat significant considering how uncommon this diversion occurs, and will probably be the final time that V-Sets will pass by on this section of the Sydney Trains network before they are retired and the Bankstown Line is turned into Sydney Metro South West

Late night CCN trains running via North Shore:
10.48pm stopping Town Hall, Wynyard, Chatswood, Gordon, Hornsby and all stations to Newcastle
12.06am stopping Town Hall, Wynyard, Chatswood, Hornsby and all stations to Newcastle
12.38am (usually 12.48am but scheduled to depart 10 min earlier than usual) is scheduled as a 4V, stopping at all stations along the North Shore line - personally it makes no sense why they would do this seeing as there's an all stops train to Hornsby 3 min behind, at 12.41am.
