Has anyone yet seen the new Busways logo on any of their buses?
I have only seen it on the rear desto of a couple.
All Busways buses I have seen, still have the old Busways logo on the front and sides of the buses.

No, I saw a few Busways buses down in Newcastle on Thursday & Saturday and they all still have the older logo. I saw an Volvo Endura (In new livery) as well as one of their Mercedes CB80's (also in new livery) and they still had the old logo that looks like the number 6 on it. Haven't seen if the Heatherbrae units have the new logo programmed into the destinations but they likely do but am yet to see it.

Speaking of Busways, It was nice to see their only Irisbus FRH NCBC bus out on the weekend in Newcastle (operating one of those express routes to Taree or somewhere, not rail replacement) been wanting to get pictures of that for a while since it's rare and no idea how long it's got left with Busways. (wish some buses still had the Kingbros Livery on them but AFAIK their all but gone)

Busways 1187 Was on the 775 today with it's Yellow and Dark Grey E-Leather?? Interior similar material that's used on the Volgren Mercedes at Penrith Depot and alot less slippy than the horrible Leather that Busways normally use is this a one off or is this the new Interior for Busways?

IIRC this was an experimental test case for a new colour scheme for vehicles' seats, but apparently from what I've heard the different coloured material wore out quicker than the classic blue material so it hasn't stuck around. MAN CB80s 1187 - 1193 were delivered with this setup and ex-CDC B7RLE 1061 (one of the first ex-CDC Volvos to be repainted into blue and white) was reupholstered with those seat colours as well.

I noticed what appeared to be an all-white liveried TSA rigid on m50 the other evening, it did not appear to have any AOA, but it was a bit dark and distant so didn't get a good look. Possibly a Custom body?

Possibly Custom Coaches bodied demonstrator Mercedes-Benz O500LE CJ65VY that has been with TSA for a few months.

576,584,741,761 and 771 were running around region 15 panted blue and white in 2012/2013

Some more unusual visitors to the 775/6 included 444 (never seen this type on here before),1049,1100 and MO 9381 (note unusual rego) 1041 may also have been on the routes.

779 seems to be nearly always run by mercedes benez buses now.

What do all these numbers mean? MO 9381 was am incorrect replate of m/o 9381 ie MO in error instead of m/o. I guess this all relates to Busways - a bit more explanation would be helpful.

Not bad loadings for the almighty 442 this evening. Not used to seeing standing room only heading inbound at 6pm on a weeknight. Would school holidays have something to do with this? Or has the number of night owl and party animal hipsters drastically risen since I lived there a few years ago?

I've also been noticing the sheer amount of demand on Routes 303/348/370 between the Green Square/Zetland/West Kensington area and UNSW. Would it be worth looking at running more short runner 370s between UNSW and Green Square Station for peak uni times? Or bring in a uni semester loop (something like this: https://bit.ly/2JEQm43).

I'm not sure if people are being left behind but the 30 min off-peak and 20 min peak frequencies on the 348 may continue to struggle to cope as the number of apartments and student living options are constantly growing in the area. Just a thought.

Busways shares routes between depots witch means that the occasional Mulgrave based bus such as 444 Mercedes Benz O405NH Custom 550 and Volgren Scanias 1096 and 1100 could be seen on the 774-776 or 780 as Busways can mix in something like a 775 or two into a Mulgrave shift witch includes routes such as 673,674,677 or 678 that run down to ether Mount Druitt or Penrith from Windsor or Richmond

Operation to ‘defect’ test buses at Hoxton Park, Smithfield depot after crash

A joint traffic task force has conducted an operation at two bus depots investigating the pedestrian crash on Parramatta’s Church St.

About 10am on Thursday, police from the task force joined Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) Inspectors to conduct the audits at bus depots in Hoxton Park and Smithfield.

At the Smithfield depot, 13 buses were inspected and three minor defect notices were issued. Brake tests were conducted on the buses, and all were found to be compliant.

Police conducted 18 breath tests with no positive readings.

At the Hoxton Park depot, 16 buses were inspected, with seven minor defect notices issued. One traffic infringement notice was also issued for a defective tyre.

Police conducted 41 breath test and drug tests at that depot with no positive readings.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy said joint traffic task force operations were run to save lives of all road users.

“Given the important work that local buses perform every day of the week, it is imperative that they are safe and compliant,” Assistant Commissioner Corboy said.

“The joint traffic task force will continue to respond to any major heavy vehicle crashes involving trucks, buses, and other large vehicles to ensure those fleets are being driven, serviced, and managed safely on our roads.

“No matter who the operator is, we will continue to conduct these sorts of operations and make no apologies for detecting and prosecuting any offences that put lives at risk.” he said.

The checks followed a horrific crash between a bus and three pedestrians near the intersection of Argyle and Church streets at Parramatta on Sunday night.

Calls for bollard installations were made following the crash on Sunday, with Labor councillor for the Dundas ward Pierre Esber said the bus depot was an “open and dangerous location”
This is typical; we only act when something’s happened,” Cr Esber said.

“But there is definitely a need to get some bollards in place at these sort of locations, which are open and quite dangerous for many pedestrians.

“All arterial roads, where there are heavy vehicles, need bollards at the corners to better safeguard our residents and visitors. We really need to better protect the public in this day and age.”

One of the pedestrians, a 16-year-old girl, was trapped under the bus until she was freed about 11.15pm. She was taken to Westmead Hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

The two other female pedestrians, also aged 16, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

The bus driver, a 62-year-old man, was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains under observation. He has also undergone mandatory testing.

It will be interesting to see if the increased journey time on the tram, compared to the 891, results in an increase in the numbers of students who decide to interchange at Green Square to the 370...

Anyone have any idea what happened to the 12:15 am N70 from penrith.
I was watching anytrip and saw it got to mt druitt and stopped, at around 1:15 a replacement bus came and continued the route running 40 minutes late.

Tranair Systems Region 6 will have a number of buses on temporary loan between depots due to delays with the arrival of new buses. 5 x B12 Volvo Volgren artics from T to L and 8 x Scania K280 rigids from T to K.
