When the Ellenbrook line opens, I feel the 955 will probably become less popular and services may be reduced and in that case it may be renumbered. As with the 340 it does seem logical it may extend to Dayton like may be a terminus some where on Arthur st with some Saturday services.

And finally once that area in Eastern Bennett Springs becomes more popular maybe in that case the 345 may extend there, there was even a time briefly around 2015/16 where a select few 345 trips would extend to Whiteman Park.

955 may end up in a similar position as the former 920 and become 356 as a result. Perhaps that's why it is still having a normal timetable.

A lot of 60s appear to run as a through-service with the 345, permitting (at least in theory, per the old Linking Services policy) a one-seat journey for passengers who catch a bus displaying "Extending Via Route XXX". Having the 345 run at the same frequency as a 60 for most of Saturday would allow this practice to continue.

Does the 66 still interline with 344 these days?

yes there are still some 66 that connect with 3xx (morley feeder). Also not only 344 there are other route also that 66 connect. it also quite random (you must to look little bit at the timetable). However the other way of 3xx route said "extension via 60/66 route" is quite rare. or maybe because i rarerly been to morley and the i've been there most of the 3xx service not through via 6x route.

Same with 371 will it convert to 9xx if they add more night service and sunday servive (371 alrady highest frequency for non city route in Northern Suburb feeder)

Also i was wondering what will happen to 955. Because this only route that 9xx which are not high frequency list. Will it convert to real high frequency in the future or replace number with 3xx).
Merc1107 wrote: Fri Jul 30, 2021 8:11 pmOr even weekend service for Caversham, which is getting to be a pretty big suburb these days
Was it already done before in 2015. but because it was just a trial it withdrawn in 2016. are you talking about caversham national park or caversham suburb?

Speaking of extension i was more thinking of 345 if the road between bennett springs dr and lumonius bvd build connection It can extend 345 to Dayton area or even some extension to Swan Valley West Swan near Winery place (This area has no bus on weekend. only odd 335). rather than caversham national park.

speaking of Frequency would that mean Morley had 15 min non city Service (371 & 345).
Traklink wrote: Fri Jul 30, 2021 9:47 pm

Maybe one for another thread but should the 353 be rerouted via the new Arthur Street bridge to replace the 340 entirely? Would improve frequencies in Caversham, eliminate the current 'weak' 340 terminus and also be a shorter route, saving a lot of km's that could be used to upgrade other routes such as the 955.

I am agree with you. I was thinking why was 353 made the route via 955 from Bassendean to Dayton. not via Lord street and Caversham like 340. Altone road already had good frequency surely it better to run via 340 (and provide weekend service there). However the downside of 353 merge with 340 is path gonna have 1 route deleted (because if 340 merge witbh 353 is not gonna be run by path but with SWan).

Speaking of High frequency that route like 555 and 588/589 count has HF route or not.
If your guess was right then it would likely to merge the route 340 into 353 as expected. (Route map)

Also they're considering to re-route the route 107 into a more direct way to link with the suburbs to shorten the travel time. (Route map)

If they're really planning to realign 107, I suggest that 103 be made to cover 107 former route to avoid duplication with 999 between PCH and Freo.

Also, the merger of 340 and 353 means Morley loses one route. Does this mean more spare buses in Baysie?

I highly support the merging of the 340 with the 353. I do remember a few years ago that there was a proposal (I can't remember from which source) to extend the 340 further east into Caversham but I honestly see no point in that espiecally since there is a bridge that connects Dayton and Caversham brings alive the 353 merger.

Re: Merging 340 with 353, it'd be interesting to see how this would be done considering each route operate in different contract areas i.e. 340 in Morley and 353 in Midland.

Apparently 340 is set to be withdrawn, meaning one less route in Baysie.

Also, considering 1467-71 from MVDEP are headed to Kal, maybe Swan might get 2309-13 from Path for the enhanced 353 in due course.

Yeh nah mate. If MV was gonna get buses to replace the B7s going to TransGoldfields, then they would come from other Swan Depots such as CV or KP.

Anyways this does not really relate to this topic so can we add these type of contributions elsewhere.

If you rember the last major bus service changes after Swan acquired Joondalup, it resulted in Joondalup withdrawing some routes with a corresponding increase in Malaga routes, hence 2175-86 moved over from Joondalup to Malaga.

remmber that Morley contract is busiest contract in perth so these bus that use to do 340 probably use for another service or another uprade service of their current route or even new route.

If midvale want to have another bus like what komen said they probably get bus from CV, KYP or JOO.

Back to service change I was thinking will 955 increase frequency on the weekend to 15 min to cover 353. Also what new route came in the future for morley contract area.

There's another time and route changes on coming mid of October. Several routes are no longer deviates as not much passenger boarding for that, and some school services are skipping several stops to providing a faster travel times.

The route 66 trips are officially connects with the route 345 so that it is possible to take the bus from Perth City to Bennett Springs on a single trip.

Route 594 in Dawesville end will becoming anti-clockwise circular and no longer travel in two-way.

In times gone by, the Linking Services Policy meant that what is mentioned above would happen, without question, on buses with their destinations set to show the connecting route. For this scenario, a Morley-bound 345 continuing as a 66 would display 66 on the side destination, and 345 on the front. The opposite tactic would be employed for a 66 leaving the City. These days you have the "Extending Via ... " destinations shown, but am not sure how often drivers permit the one-seat journey to actually occur.

The changes to school services that see deviating regular trips run Express for a portion of the journey is a regressive step, in my opinion, that will potentially cause confusion and frustration for non-student passengers. If they want to complicate matters that much, it might be better for those trips to have School Special route numbers.

As an example, I think the change to the afternoon 378s is how the school specials used to operate before they were renumbered

I believe one-seat journeys are possible on 930/212 and 995/107.

The proposed changes to the 107 will be reconsidered:
Transperth will not go ahead with its proposed changes to bus route 107 through Mosman Park after community consultation revealed residents were unhappy with the new route.

Feedback from dismayed Mosman Park residents had highlighted their concerns that the new proposed route for the 107 bus was going to create transport “black holes” at the eastern and western ends of the suburb ( Long walk to catch bus, POST, October 2).

...

Transperth spokesman David Hynes told the POST that Transperth’s review of the feedback had convinced them to reconsider their plan.

“While there was considerable support for the proposed new route, there was also concern from residents who did not want to walk further to access route 107,” he said.

“As a result, we are investigating other route options for this service and will conduct additional community consultation before making any changes to route 107.”

In the survey, I suggested using 103 as cover for 107 if the latter ever gets amended. There is heavy duplication between PCH and Freo by 998/999 which runs every 15-20 minutes.

The mind boggles... Have never caught an off peak 107 where I was not the only passenger. Then consider that even from Stirling Hwy, walking to the farthest parts of the suburb by the river is only about 1km at most, so I feel the comment about "black spots" is a gross exaggeration given the catchment area of the Fremantle line, 998/999 and finally 103/107.

An overview of the train replacement services during the festive season closure of the Mandurah Line has been revealed.
To facilitate major works on the METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link, the Mandurah line will need to close between Aubin Grove to Elizabeth Quay from December 26 to last service on January 14.

We know this will cause some inconvenience and we apologise in advance for this.

We have undertaken surveys with commuters, local business and the community to help us target rail replacement buses.

The following buses will run express to the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre:
- Route 949 from Aubin Grove Station
- Route 939 from Cockburn Central
- Route 929 from Murdoch Station
- Route 919 from Bull Creek Station

The Route 909 will stop at all stations between Aubin Grove and Canning Bridge from first to last service.

To assist health care workers at Fiona Stanley Hospital train replacement bus services Routes 909 and 929 will travel via the hospital picking up at bus stops on Barry Marshall Parade.

The long awaited major Perth CAT changes will be happening in 5 December 2021. With extension of Red CAT services to Matagarup Bridge, and the Blue CAT is being no longer runs in a circular route and extends to Kings Park during the day time.

The stop on Barrack Street before Hay Street should be a reinstated bus stop rather than the new bus stop as mentioned below.

From the PDF timetable looks like they've unified all the CAT stop number onto a single set which including all of Perth CAT services. Also the railway line is missing from the map from the timetable there.

Why would they list non-CAT changes, on a post specifically for CAT changes? Think before posting...

Cheers!
Officially the last person to tag off the 381 - 20/5/16.
Second last person to tag off the last timetabled 16 - 23/08/19.
Last person to tag off a Transdev Joondalup service - 19/1/20.

I heard from a friend that 935 may be truncated to EQBS because of the CAT service overhaul that includes the change to Blue Cat routing.
