Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Welshpool’s CNG contract has expired with the supplier along with Karrinyup PTA hasn’t renewed either so they’ll be swapping with diesel Volvos and replacing some 1800s too, Southern River should be getting up to 2030 maybe 2040 and replacing the 1594-99 and coach air 1600sEnviro 500 wrote:Looks like Malaga is going full gas?Woolies_truck wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 3:57 pm 1419-1428 Welshpool > Malaga

Path's 2322 had the honors of operating the last 67 traversing the deviation to Cottonwood Crescent. These sections were removed due to low patronage.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
What about Transdev? Are they keeping their CNG facilities at Freo? The 1200s and early 1900s are the oldest gassies. Also the midis at Welshpool that used to do CAT runs.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
I think the midis at Welshpool will probably get withdrawn soon and replaced by new B8 deliverys so goes to the 100 series in Malaga.
As to Transdev we've seen 1942-1945 along with 1976-1978 go to Freo from Rockingham in replacement of the withdrawn 1200s and B7 movements, so my guess is if more KYP gassies go to Rockingham in exchange for volvos then maybe more 1900s series in Rockingham will head to Freo.

The B7RLE “midis” at Claisebrook depot are due to be refurbished & returned to revenue service soon because of the 10 year rule with the City of Perth so these should displace the OC500LE “midis” or at least some of them the Transdev CNG depots including PATH Transit Malaga & Southern River have had CNG fuelling extensions but are still in the whine down phase given some of the later model OC500LEs still at least have another 8 years of serviceable life a lot of the older OC500LEs from 2004/05 have high kilometres and worn out engines especially the 1200s which did a lot of pre Mandurah line freeway runningkomen_413 wrote:I think the midis at Welshpool will probably get withdrawn soon and replaced by new B8 deliverys so goes to the 100 series in Malaga.

I am surprise that they get rid first welshpool and karrinyup due to fact that these depo (along with freo) is depo that had most of the cng compare to other depot. I thought the depo that they rid first is bayswater due to the fact that these depo had less CNG fleet and can easily move their CNG all to malaga and get some Diesel to Bayswater.TP1462 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 10:00 pmWelshpool’s CNG contract has expired with the supplier along with Karrinyup PTA hasn’t renewed either so they’ll be swapping with diesel Volvos and replacing some 1800s too, Southern River should be getting up to 2030 maybe 2040 and replacing the 1594-99 and coach air 1600sEnviro 500 wrote: Looks like Malaga is going full gas?

Also by lost the diesel Malaga Volvo will be
B7 CR228 Voith: 1462, 2309-2313, 2315-2322, 2324
B7 CR228 ZF: 2314
B7 Optimus Voith: 2323, 2185-2186
B7 Optimus ZF (Flip Desto): 2729-2730, 2732-2736
B7 Optimus ZF (White): 2759-2772
B8 Optimus ZF: 2773-2788
also i am interest when will all the bus from welshpool and karrinyup has to gone from there.
also if will karrinyup get also 32xx along maybe get 22xx from Transdev.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
I'd say some B7s will stay at Malaga. In my guess the ones going would probably be 2185 and 86, 2309-2324, 2729-2736 (excluding 2731) as I did a calculation earlier because remember they will also replace older 1800s too.
Probably 2759-2772 and the B8s will stay at Malaga

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
So what buses are replacing the Claisebrook B7s? Electric ones? Where will 2139-45 be going after that? Don't tell me replacing 104-108, 110 and 111?

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
The Rockingham, Karrinyup and Welshpool OCs were among the last to enter service. They have until 2030 before retiring.gasbusnaturally wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 11:32 pmThe B7RLE “midis” at Claisebrook depot are due to be refurbished & returned to revenue service soon because of the 10 year rule with the City of Perth so these should displace the OC500LE “midis” or at least some of them the Transdev CNG depots including PATH Transit Malaga & Southern River have had CNG fuelling extensions but are still in the whine down phase given some of the later model OC500LEs still at least have another 8 years of serviceable life a lot of the older OC500LEs from 2004/05 have high kilometres and worn out engines especially the 1200s which did a lot of pre Mandurah line freeway runningkomen_413 wrote:I think the midis at Welshpool will probably get withdrawn soon and replaced by new B8 deliverys so goes to the 100 series in Malaga.

I guess that the 100series midis may have a few more years to live because they have done less kms as they were in CAT fleet for 10 years of their life.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Holding everything else constant, unless the CNG tanks are replaced, their expiry date is the absolute maximum these buses could foreseeably remain in service.
The work those CATs did in their ten years is, in my opinion, far more gruelling than ten years work at other depots.

Some of those 127x/128x’s are approaching the 1.3m km mark, and they’re still in daily frontline service a true testament to the maintenance and inspection regimes the entire fleet is subjected too. Some of the engines lasted well over a million kms before rebuild also, think we forget there were diesel 405NH’s sent to Auction with barely 900,000kms on them.
It’s just a shame that no afterlife exists for these OC’s.

702_sunk_the_boat will be well impressed that their favourite OC has now relocated to Malaga

2983 delivered to Rockingham
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
saw 2434 doing 15 at Glendalough so it look like return to karrinyup or maybe this just a joondalup shift on 15F. but i dont think 15 had a joondalup shift. the marmion route that i know had a joondalup/wangara shift are; Warwick-Whitfords and 387/388.
