Random working of the year goes to 1188 on a late night Blue CATS Shift (ie an after midnight finish)!!
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

Southern River's 2426 now wears an AOA for an insurance-company Budget Direct.

At least as of Monday, 3240 and 3241 are in service.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Newbie 3117 sighted at Trucks Centre Kewdale eariler this morning, destined for Swan Transit.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
1466 came back from refurb today as I was driving in midvale depot
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
i just realize today that transdev change their "not in service' desto style to use all capital letter (like what swan use to have). however i only saw this on Freo bus i not sure rocky and mandurah is similar.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
yesterday i spotted 2685 (Wangara bus) running 000 on Alexander Drive (Dianella) to city. seem odd to see SWan bus running 000 outside their territory. usualy the wangara bus running 000 to city using wanneroo rd, Freeway.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Maybe the driver was going to Mirrabooka or Morley when they’re out of service the drivers are allowed to use whatever route they find the quickest or most practical I do see a lot of Path driver running empty along Albany highway to do the 279 from Gosnells/Maddingtonpasha241 wrote:yesterday i spotted 2685 (Wangara bus) running 000 on Alexander Drive (Dianella) to city. seem odd to see SWan bus running 000 outside their territory. usualy the wangara bus running 000 to city using wanneroo rd, Freeway.

450 terminates on Alexander Dr, I can easily see a shift running there and then empty to the city. Can't imagine Wanneroo Rd or the Freeway ending up being faster than just going straight down Alexander.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
I digress it’s also not uncommon to see a lot of Path drivers running empty along Burslem drive/Warton & Ranford road/South Street to Murdoch station from Maddington to run a circle route or along Albany highway from Maddington to Gosnells or Cannington or occasionally Kelmscott to run that school special they run from Roleystone after running a 279 from Kalamunda and not all path drivers use beach road either to run back to Morley or Malaga from Warwick it just depends on what the driver prefers and what’s the quickest or the most practicalTP1462 wrote:Maybe the driver was going to Mirrabooka or Morley when they’re out of service the drivers are allowed to use whatever route they find the quickest or most practical I do see a lot of Path driver running empty along Albany highway to do the 279 from Gosnells/Maddingtonpasha241 wrote:yesterday i spotted 2685 (Wangara bus) running 000 on Alexander Drive (Dianella) to city. seem odd to see SWan bus running 000 outside their territory. usualy the wangara bus running 000 to city using wanneroo rd, Freeway.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Indeed, dead run routes aren't area-limited, often I see Path buses dead-running down Erindale Rd and Reid Hwy to Mirrabooka/Morley/Malaga, Mitchell Fwy to Whitfords, or Wanneroo Rd to the city. Dead runs aren't set routes, and it's both contract and driver incentive to lower the dead run kilometres and time as much as possible.

Pretty sure Redcliffe controls 279, not Malaga. Are you sure those buses are crossing over to 999 from Southlands?TP1462 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 5:57 pmI digress it’s also not uncommon to see a lot of Path drivers running empty along Burslem drive/Warton & Ranford road/South Street to Murdoch station from Maddington to run a circle route or along Albany highway from Maddington to Gosnells or Cannington or occasionally Kelmscott to run that school special they run from Roleystone after running a 279 from Kalamunda and not all path drivers use beach road either to run back to Morley or Malaga from Warwick it just depends on what the driver prefers and what’s the quickest or the most practicalTP1462 wrote: Maybe the driver was going to Mirrabooka or Morley when they’re out of service the drivers are allowed to use whatever route they find the quickest or most practical I do see a lot of Path driver running empty along Albany highway to do the 279 from Gosnells/Maddington

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Isn't 2200 the last-ever CNG bus in PTA fleet?
2597 on 26 and 2754 on 935 this morning. Both buses were unable to complete their journey due to the protest in front of Parliament house by homeless people. I was aboard 2754 and I saw the whole drama unfolding.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Nope 2097 is, if you are referring by age.Enviro 500 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:02 pmIsn't 2200 the last-ever CNG bus in PTA fleet?

Welshpool, Kalamunda, Redcliffe run the 279.Enviro 500 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:00 pmPretty sure Redcliffe controls 279, not Malaga. Are you sure those buses are crossing over to 999 from Southlands?TP1462 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 5:57 pm

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
To clarify I have seen path drivers dead running from Maddington to Murdoch to run a circle route back to Oats street I think they do a 285 afterwards and I digress when I say that dead running is global and not all Malaga drivers use Beach road when they drive back to Morley or wherever it is they’re going next on their shift the second part of the comment was a generalisation I should have paraphrased betterkomen_413 wrote:Welshpool, Kalamunda, Redcliffe run the 279.Enviro 500 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 10:00 pm Pretty sure Redcliffe controls 279, not Malaga. Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Ideally, Path should manage Kalamunda/Canning/Gosnells in the same way that Swan manages Claremont/Marmion/Joondalup, even if it eventually means losing Morley to Swan Midland.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
Ideally doesn't equal reality.
All drivers are allowed to use any roads to get to their destination, as long as they're within reasonable distance of the network (such as, a driver couldn't run from Jarrahdale to Armadale via Albany Highway, but they can use South Western Highway, even if they take the same time).
The 279 can be run by any of the 3 SOR Path depots.
Cheers!

Officially the last person to tag off the 381 - 20/5/16.
Second last person to tag off the last timetabled 16 - 23/08/19.
Last person to tag off a Transdev Joondalup service - 19/1/20.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021
saw 1685 had a minor prong with a car at Intersection at Albany Hwy and liege st (Souuthern side carousel) while doing 508F. Other route (507F and 206F) can't turn right at liege st and must go straight then turn right at Cecil ave.
