Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
The story I've heard is the depots without CNG refuelling facilities were in need of low-floor buses, so CNG buses were used to cascade these buses to another depot and operator. Now why Palmyra wound up with 1797-1819 instead of a batch of new OCs, I'm not so sure about.Enviro 500 wrote:Still can't forget 23 Westport CNG O405NHs getting moved to Palmyra, while 32 diesel versions were shipped off to Wanneroo in 2007-8. Never managed to figure out why.
Looking at a map of the area, the coastal suburbs between Hillarys and Burns Beach seem like likely candidates for some of their running, but then they're not particularly far from Wangara depot so really, who knows?Enviro 500 wrote:So which routes will Beenyup operate?

Probably minor operation of the 460-469 Whitfords-Joondalup area routes and 441-447 Whitfords-Warwick area routes in co-operation with Joondalup. Minor co-op with Wangara as well with 450 and Kingsway routes.Enviro 500 wrote:So which routes will Beenyup operate?
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
When PATH had Karrinyup, Joondalup Nowergup and Wangara, all runs that were operated by those 3 Depot's were shared by those Depot's, except of course beyond practical stuff like 490's, 484's 485's etc...Merc1107 wrote:Someone else will have to chime in on what happened when Karrinyup and Joondalup were run by PATH, as I'm sure I've heard tales of how they tied these areas up with the Morley contract.
It was not uncommon to see a Wangara Renault like 42 or 1074 clattering around on 15's and 400's or whatever while a Karrinyup old banger like 434 or 547 was out doing Mirrabooka Feeders, or for something like 691 to be doing a 401 while 1114 was doing a 452 or 471 etc...
As all 4 Depot's operated on 1 radio channel and with PATH's extensive use of the SelCall feature on their radios, a simple radio call to either Karrinyup or Joondalup depot or to "Juliet 4" (later "Whiskey 2) would see connections held at Mirrabooka with ease.
Firstly, when 1797-1819 were transferred they had no Westport equipment and were simply known as the N/A Gas NH's. The reason for them being moved to Palmyra, in swap for 1182-1209 and 1220-1230 moving to Wangara was because PATH were expecting new gas bus deliveries, but both of their CNG Depot's at the time were at capacity, as Trigg Depot had not installed gas refuelling yet. It was decided that to relieve pressure off those Depot's, that 1797-1819 would move south, with the Diesels moving north.Enviro 500 wrote: Still can't forget 23 Westport CNG O405NHs getting moved to Palmyra, while 32 diesel versions were shipped off to Wanneroo in 2007-8. If it's not a ZF, take it back!

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
Makes a lot of sense now. I remember the CNG facility at Karrinyup was commissioned just before Marmion package went over to Swan Transit. After that, 1700-25 were moved over to Malaga, who retained possession of 2000-12.Bus-1809 wrote:Firstly, when 1797-1819 were transferred they had no Westport equipment and were simply known as the N/A Gas NH's. 2013-20 later wound up at Gosnells. Welshpool depot later came under Path Transit, but 1435-9 weren't included. I hope to see 2013-20 return to Path Transit in exchange for 1427-34.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
Karrinyup get their CNG refueling if i not wrong was in 2009 or 2010.Enviro 500 wrote:

If i not wrong why they not include 1435-1439 to path is because When Marmion get SWan transit. these bus was on the list move from SR/WP (i forgot) to Karrinyup in 2011 so maybe when Path won Welshpool area this bus still under karrinyup package.
btw i probably think after Swan tookover Joondalup/Wanneroo contract probably Karrinyup will run 970/370 and 384.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
When the Marmion & Joondalup contracts went out for tender last year the bus list on the Marmion tender indicated that OC's 2013-2016 and 1435-1439 were to return to Karrinyup (2017-2020 were already back at the time) and subsequently a large number of random B7 movements to occur among all Swan Depots at the time, due to Swan retaining the Marmion contract these movements were not required and did not occur.

Having 370, 384 and 970 being operated by Karrinyup reminds me of the time Midvale did 36.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
After further observations of the aforementioned routes after contract change:
Wanneroo Rd (384-389) Routes
384: Primarily Wangara
385: Primarily Wangara
386: Primarily Wangara
387: Split through all four depots
388: Split through all four depots
389: Split Wangara/Beenyup
Warwick-Whitfords (441-447) Routes
441: Split - primarily Joondalup and Beenyup with some Karrinyup
442: Primarily Beenyup
443: Split - Joondalup, Wangara and Beenyup
444: Split - Joondalup, Wangara and Beenyup
445: Primarily Beenyup
446: Primarily Beenyup
447: Split - Joondalup and Beenyup
Beenyup would likely run some 460-series trips in addition to these. Haven't seen any Mirrabooka feeders run by Karrinyup yet however.
2018 is also back from refurb.

It's famous in Singapore now. We had an incident over there a few years ago whereby a bendy bus got bogged in a field overnight.

2851 on 998 spotted in Leeming. Has this and 2843 been moved to CV or does Claremont do Circle runs as well?
