Withdrawn buses
Path - 647, 655, 695, 698, 702, 720, 744,
Swan - 653, 692-3, 701, 714, 719, 1001-24
Transdev -673, 712, 723-5

Southern River has only one Renault bus remaining (726) and I reckon that once the crappy old Artic buses go, then I believe that they will receive some ex-CAT OC buses.

Correction: 695 was withdrawn from Swan, 673 was also withdrawn from Swan.

704, 710, 733, 741, 42-76 (except 48 and 51) are also withdrawn

Noooo! Not 647! That Renault has an artic turbo in it and is faster than just about any other bus in the fleet! Whoever buys that will get a pleasant surprise when they drive up a hill for the first time.

Now we have the old Mercedes Artics gone, we currently have under 50% of the Renault Artics left in the fleet. I believe Most of the retired Renault buses have gone to scraps. The expected retiring date of the old Renault Artics will be somewhere in 2018 when Volvo B8s have been finally delivered to Transperth.

All high floor buses must be gone by 2018 due to the disability discrimination act 2012

2018 will mean that we will have 100% accessible buses in our fleet and we don't have to put up with these dirty old Renaults and Mercedes Benz buses. I don't think Gosnells and Midvale Depot will have newer Volvo Artics by the looks of it.

There is way too much speculation and uneducated assumptions going around which is making this thread look like the laughing stock of the WA section. Unless you know what you are talking about, please clearly state that it is your assumption or opinion on a matter. There are a lot of misleading posts which I presume to be assumptions, but are being made out to sound like facts.

The DDA has a target date for buses of 31 December 2017 for 80% compliance in the fleet and 31 December 2022 for 100% compliance. Simple calculations will tell you that there will still need to be high floor articulated buses around until at least the 2018-19 financial year in order for the full replacement of articulated buses to be completed (based on the five year delivery of replacement Volvo articulated buses which commenced in 2014-15).

From the ABC News
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-12-03/b ... ts/6998176
Fire has gutted a diesel Transperth bus in Perth's northern suburbs, with a faulty air-conditioning unit suspected to have caused the blaze.

The bus was carrying about a dozen passengers in Alexander Heights when the driver smelled smoke and pulled over, the Public Transport Authority (PTA) said in a statement.

The vehicle was evacuated and nobody was injured.

Two fire trucks were sent to the blaze on the corner of Azelia and Highview Streets, but the bus was completely destroyed.

The PTA said the fire started at the front of the O405 NH Mercedes bus, a model that has been in service for about 15 years.

It said the blaze was unrelated to previous fires in gas buses, sparked in the engine bay at the rear of the vehicle.

In July, a blaze that tore through a gas bus prompted the evacuation of the Esplanade bus port in the city.

At the time, PTA spokesman David Hynes said there had been at least 14 fires on the same model of Mercedes bus over the past seven or eight years.
After 33 years of commuting by bus, I now have a Seniors Myki and two more hours a day not stuck in Victoria parade on a Transdev bus.

Hi All

Ive seen the new Airport buses out and about, finally good to see it running to T1/T2, what has caught my attention is I see the airport buses most nights doing 40's when I drive up Great Eastern Highway in Belmont, why I'm mentioning it as theres been no mention of it on this board when it says Airport T1/T2 on the side when the 40's run to/from T3/T4.

Ive also noticed STM2001 parked at Mundaring last week all painted white still with its regos on it

No changes to the Kalgoorlie fleet since I was up in July

From the November thread
Merc & Renault Bus_1 wrote:All of the OC diesels will go to regionals (as you mentioned above), plus some of the early Volvo B7s as well.

2210-2215 are the only diesel OCs still left in Joomdalup
I saw 2213 as I was driving on Wanneroo Road on Tuesday, time must be running out for these soon
Mercedes Diesel less again :(

The PTA has a new contractor for the refurbishments FLN commercial repairs the work will most likely be carried out at their facility in Bibra Lake, 60 OC500LEs will be refurbished annually under an agreement between Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Volgren and the PTA that figure has the potential capacity to increase pending the availability of additional funding
