That is not true.

The only time that happens is when Either a Morley or Bayswater shift is run from the opposite depot (due to driver shortages etc...)

I'm saying that it is not correct that some bayswater shifts start with 4 and that some morley shifts start with 6. My apologies if I have confused you :?

Pretty sure lots of things have changed now with Swan Transit having monopoly over the northern beaches routes and Path Transit taking over Kalamunda area.

Morley is 4xxx and Bayswater is 6xxx now.
Morley has always been 4xxx and Bayswater always 6xxx. They were allocated as those depots came into the hands of PATH.

Originally:
1xxx - Trigg/Karrinyup
2xxx - Joondalup
3xxx - Wangara
4xxx - Malaga
5xxx - Two Rocks (this was eventually changed to 25xx)
6xxx - Bayswater
7xxx - Nowergup
9xxx - Special Events/Charter

Now:
1xxx - Redcliffe
4xxx - Malaga
5xxx - Welshpool
6xxx - Bayswater
7xxx - Kalamunda

Above is assuming that hasn't changed in the last couple of years.

I have a copy (scan) of my last MetroBus shift at Palmyra worked on 3/7/98. Not sure if I've put it up here or not...

Due to the size of the file, I cannot attach it. I've had to put it in my Dropbox space, so hopefully this link will work :)

Was 103 in Freo package back then? Why was it given to Claremont later on?

Thanks for sharing. I find it very interesting Melville Plaza was once used as a relief point. Other worksheets from around that time I've seen indicate Sainsbury Rd was used as a driver relief point too.

At the time this worksheet was from, much of the network was still operated by the Government, i.e. Metrobus. So whether a route technically belonged to one area or another probably wasn't so relevant - especially if global running was the norm (I seem to be under the impression it was, but happy to be corrected).

You're welcome :)

Melville Plaza was the main relief point for Palmyra drivers on the
106 route (this route was run by Causeway and Palmyra). Sainsbury Rd was used for driver relief (my memory's a little fuzzy) on either the 146 or 147 which was re-routed along it some time in 1997 or 1998. The driver would walk down the main driveway and wait for their bus at the bus stop out the front.

Actually (despite the date on the sheet), this was in 1998 when MetroBus was partially privatised. Swan was operating what is now the Canning and Southern River contracts and Path was operating what is now the Marmion and Joondalup contracts. The last day of MetroBus operations was Sat 4th July 1998.

Speaking of Marmion and Joondalup, I wonder how their driver worksheets looked like in 2003, 2012 and now.

Ditto for Kalamunda in 2010 and now.

I can only say that Swan currently uses 9xxx for Karrinyup.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Certainly was. At night, we’d drive in and change over at the TC’s door.

Sorry - didn't answer your question at the time. The 103 was part of Govt allocated operations area which was later assigned to the Claremont/Belmont contract area upon privatisation. This area was initially awarded to Perth Bus and later to Swan Transit when they exited the Perth market.

My apologies - I uploaded the wrong worksheet. This was actually a scan from the depot samples (not a "live" worksheet). Shift 6258 was one of the shifts I worked when I was working at the CATs and would have been what we called a "sixth day" i.e. overtime shift. I recall working for both Causeway and Malaga depots during this period.

I've been rummaging through a lot of the stuff I've collected over the years today and found a couple more MetroBus worksheets. The first worksheet - shift
112 (link here) is one I worked early in my career (dated 21/7/96). I was working part time at the CATs at the time and this would have been worked on one of my days off. The second worksheet - shift 6166 (link here) is in fact the last one I worked for MetroBus (3/7/98). Unfortunately, I only have the second half of this shift.

Would've been the 146 along Sainsbury Rd - the 147 was a twice-a-day variant that ran via Stock Road and Canning Hwy.

A bit hard to tell which is the 146 and which is the 147 per this map, but I don't think it was quite as circuitous as the map tends to suggest at first glance. When we discussed some of the maps preserved on the Internet Archive some time ago, I did check up the 147 and confirmed it only did some of the loop-de-loops on the map.

Interestingly the TravelSmart maps from those days show the 147 travelling in the opposite direction to that shown on the timetable:
TravelSmart 146 147.JPG
Which makes sense as it lets buses from Booragoon avoid a difficult right turn from Boon Street onto Stock Road, instead turning left onto Leach with enough distance to get change lanes and turn right at the traffic lights. Meanwhile buses from Fremantle could simply continue along Stock Rd and turn left into Boon to join the 146 route to Booragoon.
Catch a Traklink bus and you're on the train.

Marmion/Joondalup 2003 = Same as a current PATH Shift now, except with times to the right of the locations on the sheet

Marmion/Joondalup 2012 = Same as a current Swan or transdev shift (same layout)

Now = Same as any Swan shift.

Kalamunda now = Standard PATH layout
