Noticing quite a few of the new bus stops going up around the place now. Noticed over the weekend bus stop 50A and 51A Milne Road (203/209) section had been replaced but the new stops were 50 and 51 with the O-Bahn sign on them, so I think they were meant for Stop 50 and 51 Milne Road (506 section). I’m sure it will be sorted just hopefully nobody unfamiliar with the area gets confused!

Do you know what bus number was involved?

I did see 1096 parked at Stop 40A Beovich Road with hazards on and was running about 60 mins late going by Next There App but it may have been a different bus

No sign tonight of 1096-will keep an eye out for it over next few days. I use Anytrip which most of the time is very good.

NextThere is iOS only. It's one of the more consumer friendly ones. I use it for everyday and use AnyTrip for nerding out

I fail too see why a number of buses are having the letter "R" in front of fleet number?
These buses don't just do rail subs, they do all runs.
What is t1he purpose?

The R stands for Ready for scrapping or Ready for preservation once they've finished using them to be pretend trains.

That wouldn't work with ones like R1186(?) however. Perhaps a double meaning.

Only the NL 202 buses are likely to be retired when the Gawler Rail subs finish.
Currently there are about 37,but that is likely to increase with the current rate of deliveries of new Scania Bustechs.

I think the R means they’ve been given a life extension to assist with covering rail subs, not necessarily to do the subs but to release other buses (mainly artics) to do them. Same thing happened with Seaford Rail subs years ago when the Mercs (rigid and artic) and MAN SG artics had R prefixes but were often used for regular work while regular buses did train subs. Because must if them were artics they were used for actual rail subs more than the current NL rigids. That does not explain R1186. R3229 and R2823 though.

For the Seaford Rail subs there were also the brand new CB80 artics and rigids that were also given R numbers eg R805 and R851 that were since incorporated into the regular fleet.

Another NL202 has joined the rail sub fleet - bus 254 is now R254.
