I rode to the city on 3401a couple of days ago departing the Parkside Hotel at about 3.40pm and a bunch of school got on at the same time, with one commenting that they were traveling on a "Boris Bus" - I was amazed that a young girl would have heard of the NBFL (Borismaster).

In other news, 1790 is still sitting at the back of Aldgate depot. Visible from Mt Barker Rd and Ashenden Rd if you know where you’re looking.

3379 ex-2858 has also been on the artic tracks since July, and hasn’t moved

They do not seem to be in a hurry to get 1790 into service, unless they are waiting for some seats and other stuff!

I don't know whats so amazing about that, they have Google now.
I was parked down at a rally at semaphore a while back and a group of young girls and a boy walked past and said 'What kind of car is that ?
The boy said 'Orr it's a 🤬 old Ford, 25 years old.
One of the girls wipped out her phone, presuming looking at Google and said 'Oh it's a NA NC Fairlane.

Buses are not as widely known about or discussed as cars - not sure what your point is!!

Both deckers are at Aldgate depot, out of service until roadworks on the SE Freeway at the Crafers area are completed.

3401 is back in service - it passed me as I was walking up Glen Osmond Road at about 10.35am this morning. I haven't seen the CDI in service, as yet.

The CDI is now in service on the T840, but it now carried one of those massive adverts, that covers most of the right hand side - great pity!!

I disagree - quite a striking advertisement promoting road safety

An observation I’ve made is that 3402 performs far better up the hill than 3401 ever has

You might disagree, but that crudely designed advert cheapens the look of the bus and by covering the windows with the contravision material means that at night, especially when it rains, it would be impossible to see out of the bus, on that side.

However good to hear that it performs better than 3401 - not surprising really as CDI's have a Cummins engine, with a particularly good torque figure.
