Tim,

I only travelled on the 3pm out and the 3.30pm return to the City, and did not see 3402.

The photo of 3401 is as it is about to set off at 4pm with the 861 desto for Glen Osmond, so that was the way I knew what it was doing - did not go back for seconds!!

It fascinates me that both deckers appear on rosters that include some journeys on our local all stops City - Glen Osmond route. The 861 is a fairly short route.

About half an hour ago, I saw 3402 (the CDI) on a stopping service near the Parkside Hotel on Glen Osmond Road - I couldn't read the rear route number, not sure if it was not working, but I was on an angle to the bus.

the destination display on 3402 seems to be a bit weird. not sure we need a reminder its the T840 in the first line of the destination lol

From what I’ve heard, there has been a lot of trouble getting 3402’s destination set up and working at Southlink. Best in mind it’s their only Bustech with that setup of Hanover. I think it’s in the process of being remedied though

That's interesting -- I figured they'd ask Torrens for help on it.

I am not sure if there’s friendly dialogue between the two companies- the individual helping to neaten it is not affiliated with any operator

Both 3401 and 3402 were definitely in service today - I was in a restaurant that faces Glen Osmond Road and both were travelling towards Mt Barker, about half to three quarters on an hour apart.

From my observations the other day, the front destination display on 3402 is working, in fact it is very bright and easy to read, but the rear one does not seem to be working or is very dim.

Bus spotting on Glen Osmond Road is one of the many delights of dining at Buenasera in Glenunga. The Scarpantino reds and the home made gnocci are others.

Great reply, yes there are quite a few good restaurants along Glen Osmond Road, some with a good view of the passing traffic (buses!).
On GO Road can be seen:

Double deckers (our only 2 in route service)
14.5 mtr single deckers with Volgren bodies
12.3 and 11.3 mtre single deckers with Volgren and Custom bodies (two styles)
18 mtre artics with Volgren and Custom bodies.

Quite a variety and along GO Road, turning into Fullarton Road, Bustechs and the usual full Adelaide Metro types operate on the 171.

This photo was taken about 10 mins ago along Glen Osmond Rd at EASTWOOD. As you can see the photo was taken against the sun, so it is not particularly good.

3402 (CDI), same as 3401 (Scania) is nrostered to do some runs on the local 861 service, City to Glen Osmond.

Nice to see all the crap has been removed from the side - hope it stays that way.

See https://www.busaustralia.com/gallery/th ... =&type=AND for earlier photos in the photo gallery when it was dedicated to the Airport service. Obviously the comment "To become (217) at Surfside Buslines, Ernest, Qld." on some photos wont eventuate.

I will try and get a better photo soon - the sun was on a low angle in yesterday's photo.

Note that the tree guard has been added since the transfer to the Hills.

Thanks for doing this, but unfortunately it is still a pretty indifferent photo - as said, I will try and get a much better photo in a week or so!!

SouthLink now using the Torrens Transit format for their destination signs, at least on the photo above, maybe not on every bus though.

Definitely just 3402 - all other buses display the same as shown by 3401 at the top of the page. I think 3402 has a whole new desto set, perhaps a different sized sign from the CB80s?

The display on 3402 is wonderfully clear - the same cannot be said for a lot of those older Scania/Volgrens from Aldgate and Mount Barker. The faded orange displays, sometimes with pixel problems are really difficult to read in certain lighting conditions.

It did not seem so clear in the 2015 photos in https://www.busaustralia.com/gallery/th ... nia_K320UD
