Another retired one is 427,which is stored in TSA compound behind Morphettville Depot along with lots of MAN 11.190's and a mixture of rigid and Artic Mercedes most of which are fit for the wreckers yard.

Indeed they are still sitting out the back of that SL depot, but we're yet to confirm either way. Some rumors say they will be used, some say they won't be. We'll have to wait and see

Along with the 9 CB 80 Scania Artics operated by the 3 companies means there will be more than adequate buses to cover rail substitute services.

Saw 440 sitting on what I assume is the "dead track" at Port depot today, along with 423 and 1364 (ex-Melbourne MAN). Is it possible 440 has bitten the dust as well?

Buses have returned to service after being parked in that spot. 432 was there for months, yet for some unknown reason came back to active service seemingly without any maintenance whatsoever.

How do you know it had no maintenance?

It's not that it would have had absolutely nothing done to it. However, one would think this is the case for at least three reasons:

It bangs into third gear. It has a mechanical fault which causes a high pitch noise at over 50kph, and it's speedo is possibly faulty (I've heard get up to well over 60kph in a 60 zone twice now in less than a month).

If it was at Morphettville or another depot which cares a bit more about the condition of it's fleet, then it wouldn't be like this.

However, it's definitely one of the more interesting ones to catch.

Plus, it sounded and felt like it was in the same condition both before and after the last time it returned to service.

While we're on the subject of 432, I've noticed that 444 sounds very similar to it, except it doesn't jolt violently when shifting into third and doesn't sound terrible at roughly 55 kph. 444 does make a high pitched noise in third at roughly 55 kph, but it's not as bad as 432 and only seems to occur if the driver is sitting on 55 kph.

440 is now the third diesel SL202 to be retired. But don't know why they jumped to that one after 421 and 423.

Probably was close to needing expensive work done on it so decided to retire it before costing to much to fix it

According to the recently updated Fleet Lists, CNGs 859 and 898 have been retired. I wonder if 859 is a typo for 849.

Well either 859 is still in service, or it's replacement has its BCU in it. According to Transit Times it's doing a 190 at the moment.

I found it on TransitTimes yesterday morning too. I also saw it again that afternoon.

In addition to TransitTimes observations, I physically saw 859 yesterday and today. I haven't seen 898 recently, but that one shows up less often in my observations than other SL202s do. I doubt that it's been retired either way.

422 on a 190 this morning.

Seems like they're not being retired in order of age. I was expecting 422 to disappear by the 29th August when I heard a mention of 3 new CB80s arriving at Port on the Friday prior.

Yet she's still getting around in good condition, albeit not at 100kph. Still one of the best SL202s in Adelaide, and goes like a rocket.

I hope 432 has a few more weeks left. This one has not held out as well as 422, but it's still never boring to catch. Souds very interesting in second at 55 - 60kph, albeit almost painfully loud .

Why does it have to perform at 100km/h? I can't think of any times it would need to travel at 100km/h? Repositioning at Glen Osmond will probably see the bus only do 60-80km/h going uphill and a max. of 60km/h coming downhill.
