Re: Where Is It - Western Australia
I know this gonna sound really fricken stupid (since the following intersection now has lights), but is it Way Rd/Canning Hwy intersection, Vic Park with the bus possibly heading towards Como?

Canning Hwy near Lansdowne Road. Panther is on a route 33 service to Como Ryrie St terminus
Silver things overwhelming the Canning contract area..
Re: Where Is It - Western Australia
Mr SEB has got it: near new Hino 908 is turning off Walcott St up Longroyd St hill on the 53 to Dianella. I remember buses on routes 24 & 59 blocking Walcott St to enable buses on routes 53, 60 & 66 turn in & out of Longroyd St. Traffic lights were later installed to aid buses for the princely sum of $16,000!
908 was later transferred to Fremantle & became one of only two Hinos to make it into Transperth livery.
Here's the unadulterated photo. Note the trolleybus poles (recently removed) & the Golden Fleece service station owned, if my memory serves me correctly, by the Ricciardello family:

Re: Where Is It - Western Australia
Lovely bit of history there "erbert"
Allmost did'nt recognised the location , but that little tree behind the post on the corner of longroyd gave it away for me. Now days the tree is quite large and is one of the reasons you straddle that corner on your 60's to the city.
The camera angle allso hides the steepness of Longroyd st too.
Anyway i dont have any good ones to post ,
soooo its oooopen floooor guys.

What a great duplicitous offering.
TBC1983 - great guess, almost believable, except, from memory that Golden Fleece would have been a Caltex from memory. So close in a weird way.
Nice photo.

Looks simular
Re: Where Is It - Western Australia
It's not McDowell Street, but it sounds very similar to it. There is no "Mc" in the name; you'll be kicking yourself, NR29 since the correct name is so close to what you guessed!
Cheers!
