Jumping on the bandwagon.... not recognising the bus company but going with LB608 and the Captain, the building/servo looks sort of familiar - so just a guess: is it at Colo Heights (Putty/Singleton Rd)?
All opinions expressed are my own.

Not Singleton nor anywhere in the Putty Rd vicinity. I believe the servo still stands (not sure if it's still a servo though). The owner of the bus at this time to my recollection didn't have a set livery for their small fleet, so it may well still have been in Singleton livery when I took this photo.

Apologies Newcastle Flyer, not Scone though. First clue - much closer to Sydney.

Not Greta, or anywhere in the Hunter region. Think further south. The vehicle carried m/o plates when photographed with its then owner and was photographed very close to its home.

Had a look on Google maps and street view which has the building as still there although no longer a servo. Signage for an accountant and loans adorned the building at the time of the 'street view' camera passing.

Not East P'tta Bus Co, nor Bowral. I wouldn't be surprised if this Co. doesn't get a mention on that list of 34 bus companys LB608, but you only need to pick the location. Another clue - motorists would have passed this servo years ago (and I say years ago)if avoiding the toll. Now that must almost give it away.

No, not Berowra. The numberplate, if you can read it, gives a clue (now there's a clue in itself).

Spot on captainch. The location was the corner of the Old Princess Highway and Parkes St, Helensburgh. The Bedford Val belonged to Industrial Bus Service which had moved it's depot from Wollongong to Helensburgh and I believe had some links with Helensburgh Bus Co at the time (mid to late late '70's I think would be the date on this photo). Over to you captainch. :)

I think I would have enjoyed the Minis or the Mokes, but I couldn't fit into them - too tall. Nor Vee Dub Beetles - I led a deprived motoring life, it was the Bedford CA van and VW Kombi for me.

Interesting bus, never seen the two front axels and only one rear.
Explain your reasoning for putting the slowest, worst bus on the longest route. Surely it'd be more efficient to have a newer one. Where's my 8 speed M.A.N?
