Wonder what they will be called? Always a bit foolish to include 'New" in any name as QR did with the New Generation Rollingstock as everything new eventually becomes old. IIRC, the Maryborough plant is owned by Downer.

But the WA system of A series, B series etc seems to be the simplest and most obvious.

It is not clear from the article if this new plant will be also be operated by Downer.
