They have reached Cavill Mall.

The earliest run to Broadbeach South will be some time next week if all goes well.

Admin: Edited to make it more meaningful.

This morning, Granny, 88, still made hairdressing appointment after mistaking light rail track for road at Southport.

First tram arrived at Broadbeach South today. Work is still being carried out on the track component of the corridor itself but within the next week or so operations will really start ramping up.

Station signage is starting to appear at some stops, Cypress Avenue was being done on Saturday.

And what suddenly appeared on Translink's website today ....."changes to the Gold Coast network" - a press release advising all that the G-Link will be operational next month (my bet is Monday June 30) and with the light rail starting "most bus services will change to provide an integrated network". Another round of major changes ....doubt very much that anyone will be consulted this time around. Wonder wonder wonder what these changes are....

(Yesterday picked up 4 overseas visitors from light rail depot at Southport and drove them to Broadbeach travelling along the route taking heaps of photos....no testing yesterday as major work being carried out right along the route....had to actually use the light rail corridor several times in Surfers as no road available to use - camera usage very high those times!)
Rest in peace Robin

I half expect this may have come out as a result of some prodding I engaged in on TransLink's Facebook page...

I think that was on the Trans Link website before the Facebook posts.

Any announcements conforming the opening date: I can't find any and my tweet has gone unanswered?

One would hope that the licences of those drivers are being reviewed.

Where is the Broadbeach South station located, in relation to Pacific Fair?

Broadbeach South Station is located directly east of Pacific Fair, on the intersection of Hooker Boulevard and Gold Coast Highway.

Just saw a 741 with the deso saying Broardbeach South 741 instead of Pacific Fair 741. Obviously they are reprogramming the destos early, but then what about routes like 745 that are now stopping at Broardbeach South instead of Surfers Paradise. Certainly interesting I think.
