The attached rather poor quality scanned photo, many years ago, from the Adelaide Advertiser shows one of Ansett Pioneer's highly prized PD4106's half submerged in flood waters near Port Augusta SA - the photo was recently again in the newspaper.
Whilst I cannot recall the circumstances of how the driver managed the get the coach into such deep water, what he did cannot have been too clever, but what apparently resulted in his employment with AP being terminated, was the "fine" publicity shot, with him standing on the roof in a sort of exuberant manner!

Yep, Ted wouldn't have been enormously appreciated back at ATI HQ......especially with the AP name so prominently visible as well.....
And a rather rare photo capture of the air breather snorkel fitted down back for dusty operations.
Looks like all the expensive bits went under Tim....I assume the unit was returned to Essendon and eventually restored to service.
