I managed to park my butt in CTA 175/174/171 on various occasions when I worked for Coachtrans - nice rides and totally agree about the growl emanating from behind
May have driven this unit also (Pictured at Southport Qld)(Update: Yes I did drive CBS 00 on many occasions (checked my old log books...although I liked her more in the Skenners livery )

Here's another shot of my old drive...CBS 00 when she was with Skenner's (she now resides with the Queensland Omnibus and Coach Society...they are on Facebook and worth a visit...better still a great organisation for the bus and coach enthusiast in all of us ...pay them a visit and maybe join up and get your bus and coach fix in person )(Photo kindly furnished by Nick Wilson QOCS Vice President...Cheers Nick )
Re: GBW COACHES.
The last 2 pictures of the first post (the Denning registered 691 BTJ) also underwent the late Alistair Grant's "grille" treatment during its time at Sunshine Coast Coaches. Windows were also replaced with fixed ones as well as replacing the Grille and removing the Denning badges.
Here's a pic of it during its time at Sunshine Coast Coaches as SUN 19 shortly after acquisition from Skennars (from another ATDB thread).
Edit: However, the fleetlists has the unit listed as 961 BTJ and SUN 39. (though it's meant to be 691 BTJ and SUN 19 during her stints at CBL and SCC respectively)

OldCoastie wrote:I have to make correction to my previous post above about one of the GBW photos at the top of this post. It has played on my mind all weekend so I have checked my photos and records - the Coachtrans registered 171 CTA was ex Skennar MO 9810, new in 1985 (originally fiited with 8V71 and 5 speed o/d fuller). There were four very similar looking smart looking coaches with the sloping panel from the roof to the destination box built in 1985/1986/1987.
861 PBT (Cummins, 5 speed o/d fuller 53 seats)
MO 9810 (8v71, 5 speed o/d fuller 45 seats)
CBS 00 (Cummins)
405 PMG (8V92, 5 speed o/d fuller).
Sorry about the mistake, I don't claim to be perfect.
Cheers

Hi OldCoastie, I'm new to this site and wondering after reading a couple of your post wether you or someone you might know would have a bit of history on the old girl I recently purchased. She is a GBW #24 on the build plate. It runs a Detroit 6V71 S/C with a very confusing 5 speed Spicer ( took me a while to come to terms with it ), single rear axle and partially fitted out as Motorhome.
I you could help with the info that would be great.

Hi there guys, there is a GBW bodied M.A.N 22.280 for sale here in New Zealand at the moment on the Trademe website. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/buses/3 ... 599479.htm
Re: GBW COACHES.
I am still interested in buying a GM Powered Badge as fitted to the front of some of Clarrie Skennar's Coaches.
