Nice photos. Good to see that ex R572 hasn't been scrapped. It was one of the best O305Gs in service during the rail closure. According to the fleet list, 564 has been purchased by HW as well. Have you seen this one there yet?

An artic with only the front door in-tact certainly looks odd. I assume this meets all safety regulations?

Why wouldn't it? I'm one that cringes over door removals from government buses etc, but it's the charter industry, so more seats the better for them. I must admit they've done a pretty good job with the conversion of them, although it would've been nice from an enthusiast perspective if the doors remained intact.

On 6445 (1879) I quite like the little window instead of the Centre Door in place.

Could you direct me to the location of this 'Horizon west' depot?

I would love to go and see the O305's one last time. Also to see a B58 Artic, as the last time I saw that, I was VERY young.

How did you get permission to take pics?
Regards,
Mr Nicoster.

Didn't it use to be 15 years? Wouldn't surprise me if the government changed it because the 300+ B59s would have to be replaced as early as about 1987 to comply with the 15 year regulation.

It was 30 years, then before that, nothing. Now a bus in SA has no resale value.

No, it'd just be sold at scrap value (i.e. the value that it would have if it were sold as scrap metal).

Which is why the local preservation scene has seen a sudden boom in bus numbers ;)

You do know that TP gave Southlink 2 Dennis Darts right? (And then Path Transit in Perth stole 'em back)
And then TP stole a MAN HOCL-R-NM (or was that a HOCL-NL) while it was being delivered
