A couple of pics of the only Leyland National to operate in route service in Adelaide. This was also the Australian Leyland National demonstrator and the only one made to this length.

So is this 10.9m version with windows built to the longer version before rear door, and shorter version aft rear door?

This bus still exists today in very weathered condition with the Queensland collection, still in its final Surfside livery.Construction number 00161,it is one of the earliest survivors and well worth restoring properly having travelled so far and generated the interest that resulted in the assembly of ckd Nationals in Australia
This is the only 11.3m long National in Australia,it now has a very good Volvo engine.

Much to the british members of Bus Spotters disgust of Nationals, these were ground breaking in Australia, currently the engine is not very well with a replacement engine ready to be slotted in its place, also the elements it was exposed to at Surfside Buslines has taken its toll.
However it is envisaged these tasks will be undertaken soon as a restoration project, due to the truly significant place this vehicle has in Australian Leyland Bus history.
I currently have several of SAF.086 alias Surfside 506's and x BCC 725's panels here at home undergoing repair and making new ones.
