QCOS and Brisbane Tramway Museum Display in King George square Brisbane. MAN 100 SL200 with prototype Denning Body restored at Coachworks to its commemorative Gold and white livery.
The horse drawn tram has a replica body on the original truck and built by Brisbane City council in 1959. As all the trams have gone from Brisbane long ago (except at the Ferny Grove Tramway Museum) it is on wooden rails on a trailer. The gauge was 4’8½”. As a coincidence as I was later passing the road reconstruction works of Kingsford Smith drive, the old tram tracks which had been buried under the tarmac for years, had been dug up and were being cut up with an oxy torch.
