It appears that the 'all white livery' virus hasn't only afflicted coaches and buses, but now also locomotives.
Spotted stopped outside Katoomba today on its journey east was locomotive CLP12 displaying its new pale look.
Built by Clyde Engineering for the Commonwealth Railways in the early '70's this unit entered service in January 1972.
Now owned by SSR and appropriately named 'Casper' given its new look.
Edit: Since first posting I've come across a second all white locomotive - CLF3 'Space Ghost'. See photo added further in post.

Re: Locomotive CLP12 'Casper'
1972. That's very late for a bull nose loco. Is this primer awaiting a livery or is this it's finished look? It certainly displays it's shape well without ornate patterns all over the place but I hope this isn't a trend.
NSW, the state that embraces mediocrity.

Re: Locomotive CLP12 'Casper' and CLF3 'Space Ghost'
From what I can find online (sorry I'm not much of a rail enthusiast), in mid 2019 Southern Shorthaul Railroad (SSR) acquired locomotives CLF1, CLF3, CLP9, and CLP12.
I captured CLP12 some weeks ago passing through Katoomba in its all white garb and named 'Casper'.
Today in the same spot (but from the other side of the line) I caught CLF3 also all white and named 'Space Ghost' .
