Certainly a few memories there, Roger Graham included. The Red Arrow bus looks like the PMC that ran the route and was in Red Arrow livery.
I also remember those great bus shelters (note roof) at the Bosnjak's terminal at Parramatta Station.
Think for yourself, while it's still legal !

These official black and white press photos have an added impact. Love the N&W Leopard with the sample of passengers and showing the professional presentation of the driver. Also enjoyed the Leslie's ex Canberra Freighter bodied Swift at Blacktown. Both 1983 shots.

That was Frank and Morris's first new bus after the take over of Alan Redman's Hammondville Bus Service. m/o5950 was a Smithfield bodied Albion Viking VK55, keeping with the beautiful fleet of Albions Alan had.

Scant on details. Who was trialling the National and where was it taken?

Were drivers at Ryde getting attacked at an alarming rate at this time? One ex Ryde driver showed me why he quit in the form of a stabbing scar on his abdomen!

I wonder if that McVicars PMC Leyland in the last picture was on the chassis that got the Custom Mk88 rebod?

The descriptions of these are straight copy and pastes of the getty images titles. Unfortunately with the archives under a paywall, that's all i can gather

It was on "trade plates", so more likely someone from Leyland giving a demonstration. Looks like they borrowed some desto rolls meant for a Merc from PMC.

The photo dates from 1974, which is well before Mercedes got a look in. Was there such a route as 3X2 in Sydney, presuming it's in Sydney. They were imported and assembled by Leyland on Sydney. Did the PTC trial one at all and this is it?
It looks like a radical prototype machine in 1974 traffic.

Well the rolls might be from a Leopard, but they look a bit small. They are both "via...." signs and have been trimmed off on one side. The 3X2 could just be a random number that got wound up at the time.

Hard to believe the National is older than the McVicars PMC Leopard. The former was ahead in styling while the latter was behind.
Ironic the National II got the Leopard engine as an upgrade. Best of both worlds.
Might have worked on the Aussie market so long as there was a huge inventory of body parts always on hand or a company here could stamp them.

Upon looking at the plate I found out it's the same bus I put up here that I took a colour pic of in 87.
