Hi all,
At Sydney's Outpost Expo there's a MANSL200 (PMC body :D) on show. I'll post pics soon.

Is it a preserved unit on display?
Or is it some sort of showroom for something?

Neither. It's on show, but as an artwork. I may have pics tomorrow. Rawson's SL202 survives http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewt ... 60#p751660 unless they had an SL200 too?

It has a body built by Parramatta Ryde Bus Service themselves. They bodied alot of their own vehicles.

What a terrible undertaking it will be to remove that mess off the bus!

There is a story about MO-4928 as it was what I read that it was in the cargo hole of a ship with other MAN SL200s bound for ACTION in Canberra on the voyage to Australia the ship encounted some really bad weather and the seas got really bad and there were some shipping containers in the hole with the SL200s.One of the containers broke loose and MO-4928 ended up being squashed against the wall of the ship by the shipping container there was something about it in I think Truck & Bus magazine about it.

How sad.... what a mess.... Ironlak (in desto) are a supplier aimed at the feral oxygen thieving scum vandals of this ####ed world.... shoot them all.
Even those who put sticker tags on stuff.... How can anyone be proud of this sort of filth ?

There may still be a few here that remember my views, and some agreed, that this bus should've been preserved by the bus museum, and not ex m/o 612 Leyland Leopard.

What a horrible end for such a nice old MAN which deserved so much better.

This bus should have been preserved, makes my blood boil to see such a unique bus destroyed by such garbage. Even a motorhome conversion would've been preferable.

Rather than bleating on that "somebody" should preserve it, why not put your money up and purchase it yourselves? If it weren't for the fact that I'm somewhat over-comitted with 3 buses already I'd give it serious consideration!

I can verify that as being true as I read that article in Truck and Bus when I was still in school and I also fondly remember working on that bus during my 10 month stint at Parra-Ryde. The container actually fell on top of it though.
