Scanning phones

Post by eddy »

There would be some people in Victoria who do not know how to scan their phones and like NSW they just walk straight into many places.

Perhaps it is not even needed as not long after I go in a shop they ask me on the phone how it was.

There may be relation to smartcards being available on phones through Google Pay, Apple Pay etc. Myki has been available on Google Pay for some time now.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Not much but I thought this should be pointed out to Victoria.

My wife does not even know how to Google.

Perhaps he means scanning a QR code for contact tracing, like this: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/covid-safe/qr-codes

Thinking about how a person drinking would shout an order to the bartender and the fact that no face mask gives protection from others without one I had this thought to protect the hotel workers.

If people can text their order the bartender they may be able to stay a good distance while giving an extra layer of tracing COVID 19

I think a perspex shield in front the till/ordering area would solve this. Many shops already have them.

Bartenders are expected to assess that the drinker is not drunk before serving. This might be difficult with phoned-in orders.
