I think Transdev had a lot of maintenance issues with those CB30 buses. And given they received 100 new buses from the state Government, it makes sense why they were withdrawn.
But generally speaking, Transdev Melbourne haven’t been really good with maintaining a lot of their buses anyway, to the extent of more than 100 buses being taken off the road due to bus safety issues (that was 3 years ago)

Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2020
Probably the chassis. The only "good" CB30 was 574, which was a later model to the others and IIRC was actually the same chassis as the Designlines (which are also not that well liked unfortunately, for other reasons). The worst of the CB30s were the first batch in the low 500s, originally delivered in the National livery. I saw a former Transdev CB30 on a rail replacement service at Ringwood a couple of weeks ago so they aren't quite dead yet.

Instresting... are all MANs prone to these issues? Or just those particular ones?Heihachi_73 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 08, 2020 7:03 am Probably the chassis. Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2020
I think the MAN 14.220 and MAN 16.220 Designline Orbitor smartbuses also had quite a few issues, and to be honest, having ridden some of them on the smartbus DART routes, I’m glad they were withdrawn
Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2020
Bus 300, the last high floor at Transdev Melbourne and one of the few remaining Mercedes Benz 0405’s operating, has been withdrawn and is now listed for sale at Mannheim Auctions
Now Transdev only have low-floor buses
Tbh I expect more of the custom Mercs 550’s to go as well, even the refurbished ones (some have been withdrawn already)

Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2020
A bit of a small shuffle around with Transdev’s fleet again
A majority of the Gemilangs 100-116 seem to have made a slow transition back to Doncaster. I’ve seen a few more of them on DART routes than on route 903, and have seen a few myself heading to Doncaster depot in the evening
To my surprise The same goes with buses #134-140 although they are running a mixture of Dart and non-Dart runs
Meanwhile Buses #901-915, the Custom Cb60 C-Max, seem to be running more North Fitzroy runs (I.e. route 250, route 246 etc)
And I’ve seen a lot more of Transdev’s new buses (notably in the 1100 range) on SmartBus Orbital runs as well as North Fitzroy runs, with little to no ex-Grenda buses to be seen on route 901 or 902 (they’re usually on route 903, DART or non-smartbus routes)
