Old bus and high floors in route service

Post by a350a380 »

Hi,

I'm after some help locating in service the following vehicles. I have used the trip view app and have had no luck so far locating on week days.

- Busabout Volvo B10M Austral Metroliner Campbelltown (saw on trip view about 3 weeks ago on an 889 - 1735 and 1835 ex Campbelltown)

- Busways Mercedes O405NH Custom 550 444-446. I'm looking at Mount Druitt at peak times, see plenty of high floor O405 but don't see these.

- STA Mercedes O405 Custom 516 3530-3533

- Transdev MAN SL252 7311

Any help would be appreciated. Maybe they run specific duties or I'm looking in the wrong place?

Also there might be other opportunities to see the B10M - I saw one yesterday on rail replacement and missed it. Unfortunately it seemed to have dissapeared for the rest of the day.

Thanks

The busways fleet you ask about are at Mulgrave who are a bit all over the shop lately with allocations I'd suggest a trip to Richmond for those buses 444-6 the only high floor custom Mulgrave Mercedes working I'm aware of into Penrith is the 5pm 775/6 arrival from Mt Druitt which could also produce 1102-21 Scanias from Mulgrave.

Sta 3530-3 I've only ever seen in Service in the Peaks in Parramatta at about 4:30-5pm

I would of thought that m Busabout would have withdrawn the 2 or 3 remaining 26 year old ex Brisbane Transport B10M Metroliners by now

There will be 13 high floor buses left in the Busabout fleet when the Metroliners are withdrawn
5 Volvo B10MSE Volgren CR221
3 Scania L113CRB Custom Coaches 510
2 Volvo B10M MK4 Custom Coaches 510
1 Mercedes Benz O400 Custom Coaches 210
1 Volvo B10B Bustech
1 Volvo B10MSE Bustech

Thanks for the replies.

I shall bare that in mind re the Busways stuff. It's quite incredible to see how much high floor stuff is around at peak times. Mount Druitt has regular high floors even off peak currently. I caught 265 dating from 1994 on Friday on off peak service too. This is approaching 27 years old.

As for Busabout. Given the O405s with buswsays are 27 years old, I'm not neccessarily convinced they're going to he withdrawn just yet (ex Brisbane B10Ms). I saw one of the ex Brisbane ones on trip view only a few weeks ago. If anyone who knows for sure what the situ is with these at Busabout I'd love to know?

Thanks for listing the other confirmed busabout high floors. I managed to catch a significant proportion of these last week.

I regularly get to see the arse end of the STA 3530-3 on my morning commute over the harbour and into Ryde at around 9am every morning. Very pleasant.
Eastgardens to Kingsford is a 1-2 section fare.

Busabout roster their high floors on school day broken shifts witch are am/pm shifts that only operate during school terms with a 4 or 5 hour break if the driver doesn’t except any school charters within that period between the 9:00 and 14:30 or some time around then

One of the 44x was in a crash a couple of weeks ago and may not return from what I’ve heard

There was a service review at the start of term two that increased the peak bus needs (new and modified routes around Rouse Hill / Box Hill / Marsden Park and the Jordan Springs - Werrington service). Due to delays in the new bus procurement process, the increased fleet requirement was met in the short term by additional o405s in service. For example, where a new "replacement" low floor was delivered, the old high floor was not disposed of. Later this year when new "growth" low floors are delivered, you will see a number of the o405s retired.

I know your looking for 444-6 but 447 just ran the Mulgrave operated 776 this evening so there's a chance 444-6 may work a Evening trip into Penrith

Bizarrely, high floor Transit Systems Scania 3630 was running this morning in the CBD. Must be well over the statutory age limit.

I had trouble logging in so apologies this is late but can confirm that on Tuesday 8th June Busways 5653 B10M Austral Metroliner ran a 5.05pm 884 and 5.45pm 893 in the evening peak. Amazing to find this in route service 26 years later and it was great to ride on.

They have an interesting fleet including a high floor B10B dating from 2002 with higher hp Euro 2 DH10A and ZF auto which is a rarity.

The dual door B10M SE were seen frequently too although their were none around on the 8th.

Like has been just posted Transit Systems are still using their L113CRB Ansair Oransa Gas in the cbd daily inc off peak weekdays all 26 plus years old. There is still one O405NH CNG left too (1288).

Does anyone have a list of the bustech O405NH at Busabout Campbelltown as the fleet list doesnt appear to show them all.

Thanks for the information on their B7RLE from 2001

5653 belongs to Busabout not Busways.
