They could easily change the 962 back to what is was then just add the Parramatta via Lidcombe and James Ruse drive part of the M92 on as a extension witch would mean two buses in each direction per hour would have to divert via Illawong and Menai Marketplace as those 4 buses would be the replacement for the 962 . There’s your extended M92 without having to cut the Bankstown to Parramatta section of the route

Re: Future Transport 2056 (2036 refresh)
The 320 (then M20) was supposed to go to Lane Cove when it first started, but my recollection is the council put paid to that as they didn't want that many buses terminating in Lane Cove shops, and with nowhere else, this is why they ended up at Gore Hill (well, the industrial area next to Bunnings Artarmon anyway).swtt wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 5:27 pm [*] Chatswood - Airport via Sydney CBD and Botany Road - nowhere in sight. Not done.
[*] Lane Cove - Eastgardens via Sydney CBD, Surry Hills & Botany Road - Route 320 still Gore Hill to Mascot. No hint of any extension to Lane Cove (north) or Eastgardens (via 307 after Mascot). Unlikely to ever eventuate as a long route
Alternately it would have extended up the highway to Chatswood, but there's barely enough room there as it is either - and it also parallels the train line a bit too much to warrant doing that.
As for buses to the airport - what with changes in ownership of the Airport rail line, wouldn't this trigger some sort of anti-compete clause (if one still exists)?
Again, the talk (here) was that they could have simply redirected the now 320 to the airport instead of the ill-fated Botany Shops extension, but as more of a pipe dream I suspect.
"It's my way or the (side of the) highway".
Might be a way to lead life, but more like the way that some people drive.

The majority of revenue generated by the airport station surcharges now flows into the NSW government coffers.
