Bus customers will soon benefit from better connections and more frequent trips across north west and western Sydney, with more than 2,000 additional weekly services starting next month.
Minister for Transport and Roads Andrew Constance said the changes will provide commuters with new and improved services, with more options across the entire day.
“From the 18th of April, we’ll be adding additional services and increasing the frequency of buses on existing routes, to support our customers in our growing north west and western Sydney suburbs,” Mr Constance said.
Suburbs that will benefit from the bus improvements include Pitt Town, McGraths Hill, Box Hill, Rouse Hill, Riverstone, Schofields, Marsden Park, Mt Druitt, Erskine Park, St Clair, St Marys, Werrington, Jordan Springs, Penrith, Wetherill Park, Prairiewood, Smithfield, Fairfield and Bonnyrigg.
To support the improvements, there will also be minor adjustments to some school and regular services. Schools have been notified of the changes.
Some of the improvements also deliver on commitments made as part of the NSW Government’s Growth Services Program to build a better bus network for customers.
“We’ve added more than 55,000 extra weekly services since March 2011 and are constantly reviewing the network so we can deliver better outcomes for commuters right across Sydney,” Mr Constance said.
Busways will also begin trialling an electric bus this month, operating out of the Penrith depot, making it the first electric bus to run in this region.
Customers will be able to plan their trips from early April at transportnsw.info

Re: Private Bus Observations 2021
There are new timetables from 18 April for some routes in regions 1 and 3, as anticipated by the ministerial announcement yesterday.
Those I can detect are 671, 672, 746, 747, 748 (new), 751, 775, 776, 783, 813.
757 to be deleted.

824 on weekdays seems to follow the same route as 818 between South Wentworthville and Westmead Hospital. 818 does not seem to have any changes though.

When will there be more buses in the existing Campbelltown area?

The 824 replaces the 810 & 811 between Parramatta and Allen St and will follow the current 818 between Westmead Hospital and Centenary Rd.
The 824 will only operate between Parramatta and South Wentworthville on weekends.

The Liberal Party press release includes a run-down of the service changes. It seems these were cut out of the Transport NSW presser.

However it does mention the new route 740 and upgraded 741 for Box Hill.
Re: More bus services to Sydney's West
I would like to see more 800 or 812 buses to improve connectivity to Blacktown from that part of the west.

Prairiewood, NSW and surrounding area of the world.
Well under 1% of the Earth's area, but a very important part of the world to those who live there. Unfortunately, there aren't many jobs in that part of the world and better PT access can help then get out of that part of the world to other jobs.

Re: More bus services to Sydney's West
Also from nearby Smithfield and Wetherill Park (Yes! Suburbs without railways exist! Deal with it, inner Sydneysiders). And I lived around there since I was a kid, so I would absolutely agree with rogf24. The 812 has been a peak-hour sitting duck ever since that Pemulwuy connection between the two sides of Butu Wargun Drive where there used to be boom gates got wiped off the R3 map with the introduction of the post-2010 800. The 800 itself; from the Smithfield part of town, is only good when you're near Polding St. If you're on The Horsley Drive and can't walk that far (while keeping in mind that THD and Polding St while between Cumberland Hwy and the T-Way are about a kilometre apart, and Fairfield City gets twice as hot than the Sydney CBD during the summer), then the 800 is unreachable.
Right now, if someone lives on The Horsley Drive anywhere east of Greenway Plaza and west of Fairfield High School and they wanted to bus it to the southern side of Blacktown, they would either;
- Go east only to come back west; grab an 813 (anywhere along THD) or 814 (only from east of Justin St) to Fairfield and join an 800, which itself takes long. Or;
- Grab an 813 and go to Horsley T-Way, cross to the other side and wait for the aforementioned 800 if it hasn't already been there before your arrival
(and yes; I said go to Horsley T-Way; because rushing to the other side of Prairiewood/Stockland to get a bus is no joke. If a Blacktown-bound 800 is already waiting there when you come in, then it's as good as gone by the time you get to that side.)
If the 812 was running full-time once again like it was before, then this wouldn't be an issue. But then again, maybe TSA should've taken the old Bonnyrigg depot back then, or should be planning out a third depot and recruiting more drivers and operational staff for it to happen, I don't know.
Plus, the 812 in its current shape (route-wise, not timetable-wise) is damn near 15 minutes quicker to Fairfield than the 800; improving transport connections at Fairfield Station for those who need it, unless The Horsley Drive around Smithfield Town Centre decides to stuff it all up.
Volgren all day, every day
Dear T80; If the decker's not a Volgren, I'm not interested.
Westbus Fairfield + Dandy Hub = perfection

Re: More bus services to Sydney's West
Very surprised about the 775/6 the loadings always seem higher on the Penrith St Marys sections than the St Marys - Mt druitt sections. Except during school kickout times when there is a high volume awaiting at St Marys Mt druitt bound. Biggest issue with the 775/6 and 770/4 and even the 797/799 is the common route sections always seem very poorly spaced. You can have a gap of 2 minutes then 28 minutes on the routes which is just poorly managed.

New network map for R1 is available on the Busways website:
https://www.busways.com.au/sites/defaul ... 180421.pdf
Was also at the new suburb of Gables in the weekend, and some bus stops and route directional markers for 740 are already there (specifically Fontana Drive)

The new R3 map looks very nice to me. It also finally has a Badgerys Creek inset (I could never be bothered checking 801 or 813 maps individually for their routes).

I almost forgot the TSA R3 map used to look like this in the very beginning in 2013 until it was replaced with the current one based off the A3MC network map: http://web.archive.org/web/201402051458 ... rk_map.pdf
