Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
Penrith line operating via City Circle and Bmt operating on the slows between St Marys and Blacktown for some odd reason.

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
Penrith trains can't get over the Bridge, so perhaps the CC is a better alternative than terminating at Central(i).
Any T1 or T9 terminating at Wynyard Upper?

Penrith services operating via the City Circle anti-clockwise, Hornsby and Richmond services from the country platforms at Central for the duration of the Harbour Bridge closure.
Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
No. Starting from North Sydney due to bridge works.

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
So how do they get from North Sydney to Strathfield if the bridge is closed?

Missing the question which was "How do the TRAINS get from North Sydney to Strathfield" if the bridge is closed?

This does not answer my question. Where do T9 and Richmond trains terminate in the city?

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
BMT trains on the Weekend, January 2 & 3, were tabled to run on the Fast (Suburban) Lines between St Marys and Blacktown, so there may have been an incident, track obstruction, or some Emergency trackwork on that section of track.Stonesourscotty wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 3:09 pm Penrith line operating via City Circle and Bmt operating on the slows between St Marys and Blacktown for some odd reason.
Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
On the Weekend, January 2 & 3, due to Trackwork in Sydney Terminal only Platforms 1 to 4 were available for use.
In respect to the Harbour Bridge work, the Track Possession extends from Central to North Sydney (Shore Lines).
There are no services running Central to Wynyard (High Level) and return.
They may require Wynyard (High Level) to be clear for any Work trains which are required to run.
Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
For the closure of the Shore Lines between Central and North Sydney, Services have been altered accordingly for minimal impact to Customers travelling.Fleet Lists wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 8:30 am Missing the question which was "How do the TRAINS get from North Sydney to Strathfield" if the bridge is closed?
To provide the service on each side of the Possession, Train sets have been allocated and positioned differently, possibly prior to the closure, or with Empty running, utilising sets from other Depots e.g. Hornsby MC.
They have allocated a number of Train sets for the Shuttle service running between North Sydney and Hornsby.
T9 Northern Line services, running via Strathfield, have been extended to run to and from Berowra.

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
Nearly all lines messed up this evening due a suicide at Lidcombe
I found it quicker to travel Central Epping on the Wyong train then metro then 607x then 706 then Blue mountains train then a 770 than to catch a Penrith service to Kingswood from Central. I know a few other Penrith users did similar but caught local buses from other metro stations then local services to Penrith.

I don't know how long it has been there, but in the escalator atrium between Wynyard Walk and Clarence St, there is a massive video wall with CGI simulations of Wynyard station featuring trams, single deck trains and Waratahs.
Very cleverly done, well worth a visit. Takes about 3 minutes to cycle through.

Disturbing footage of no crowd mitigation measures when it is needed the most to ensure at least some sort of order when social distance may not be even possible.

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
I think the video wall was installed when they redid that part of the station when they opened it up to Barangaroo, but hadn't really noticed what was on it - though being a video wall they can change the content to suit obviously.boronia wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 4:39 pm I don't know how long it has been there, but in the escalator atrium between Wynyard Walk and Clarence St, there is a massive video wall with CGI simulations of Wynyard station featuring trams, single deck trains and Waratahs.

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2021
I've been up there a few times last year, but this was the first time I've seen it actually working. Maybe they turn it off at weekends, which is when I've been there?

HARBOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE
There's still a lot of timber sleepers. Did they only 'concrete" the down track?

I think it was the decking under the tracks that was replaced. Concrete sleepers might be too noisy.

Up track only either side of the pylons, i.e. not under the coathanger. So ifthe whole thing is to be done, only a quarter of the way there.lunchbox wrote: ↑There's still a lot of timber sleepers. Did they only 'concrete" the down track?

I went past in the bus during the week. There was definitely activity in the middle section.
