This explains why only 852 and 846 have been seen in Penrith this past week?

Ex Penrith/Glendenning Bustechs 1167-75 have arrived at Mulgrave along with a few more Man Customs meaning most of the 109*- 1101 scanias have gone to Penrith.
New and altered routes in Mulgraves area, makes sense

Busways 557 was driver training on the 774/5/6 at 1:30 (Thursday) going past Nepean Hospital St Marys bound very unusual to get one of these on any road around Penrith

Glendennings 1227 was Friday's Driver trainer in Penrith

Appears 266 and 270 have been brought back into use at Mulgrave having previously been withdrawn a few months ago.

Spotted what may have been Hunter Valley Buses 7140 MO (To be confirmed) in AOA for "The Hive". this may be nothing special but it's an SC222 and the first time I've ever seen an SC222 displaying a full AOA of any sort.

If I'm recalling correctly, looked like an advertisement for some sort of Daycare centre but doing a google search now and I can't find anything on it?

In other news (minor) m/o 3875 from Newcastle Transport has lost it's Sydney 2000 plates, now is on yellow plates. (Same Rego just no longer the 2000 Olympic plate design)

In Sydney most, if not all buses, on Olympic plates have reverted to yellow plates.

Some of Transit System's 36xx Scania L113CRBs that will be withdrawn within the next couple of months retain Olympic plates.

Surely this can't be a Forest bus? All this way out in Newcastle? Their the only mob I'm aware of that has the other MAN A95 DD's in TNSW Livery.

If it wasn't a Gemilang it might've been an B9TL Optimus?
Yes it is a MAN decker for PSC.

Demonstrator or their actual bus?

Given I saw it in TNSW Livery I'm inclined to believe this isn't a Demo but figure I might as well still ask. I haven't come across it since that day but I wonder what their intentions are with it given DD's aren't a thing around here and I doubt the Gemilang has been built to be a charter bus.

I'll be keeping my eye out for sure. Hope it's not just another school bus.

It’s brought by PSC to replace a articulated B10M that is withdrawn.

This morning I spotted the Busways Custom Denning Element demonstrator passing through Cranebrook, presumably on a training run. It’s been given the fleet number of 7012.

Transdev Mt Kuring-gai now has 3 BYD D9RA Volgren Optimus electric buses. They were delivered over the past few days, with 8186 and 8187 calling Mt Kuring-gai hom permanently, whilst 8188 is slated to serve as a demo floating around all the TD depots. 8188 is in an AOA advertising the fact its an electric bus.

Times must be very tough for the Blue Mountains Explorer as they have advertised for sale their comparatively new two BCI double deckers, what a great shame.

I believe they were putting their two BCI deckers up for sale and parting company with one of the Volvo Olympians, which puts them back to where they were some years ago. Quite a few drivers have been retired as well - see latest Australasian Bus & Coach magazine.

Spotted an all white Van Hool unit passing through Katoomba last week.
Happened too quickly to get any details other than body style and the Van Hool name on it.
I assumed it was the Sid Fogg's unit, but that unit still retains it's corporate livery.
Would seem then that there's a second Van Hool coach about.

I very much doubt they'll be seen in W.A. in a public capacity as the article implies a possibility of. While Government contracts were originally open to the idea of a small number of vehicles being owned by an incumbent contractor, I believe this has since changed to complete prohibition.

Also see https://www.transitsystems.com.au/news/ ... -bus-order
This includes "Transit Systems currently operate metropolitan bus contracts in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australian and Northern Territory. " but no indication which state is likely to see the hydrogen buses.

Also see https://www.h2-view.com/story/australia ... t-systems/ which I dont think adds anything further.

I'd say one bus each in NSW and Victoria most likely. WA is locked into Volgren and SA into Bustech. Custom Denning's fuel cell bus should be along soon and they'll be pushing the Element (in both versions no doubt) in all national markets. In terms of Transit Systems' buses, the Element does have the advantage over this Futon and BYD and Yutong of being low floor, with higher capacity, thus being a more functional bus for the Australian market. In Perth TS is most likely to eventually get the Volgren/Volvo electric bus which is also a better design.
