How many people catching a bus are going to worry about what make/model is being used?

Because it has most likely been fitted with a transponder from a withdrawn Citaro.

That would explain it. A TIL on how vehicle model is assigned.

A lot of drivers in the suburbs do find ways to stop the tracking transponder from sending real time apps the position of their bus without interfering with the real time info from the service that gets sent back to the operator and Transport For NSW

The no position real time app thing happens a lot with some drivers at Busabout and Interline

Regional buses are nearly always built with one door.

It's pretty quiet down here in Nowra, no surging masses fighting to get in and out of doors. We have five three-door artics for those occasions!

Strange enough, on Sunday I saw Hunter Valley Buses m/o 6652 with Hillsbus Foundry Road accreditation still on it. Missed getting a photo of it tho but it seems strange after all this time being Transferred to Thornton the accreditation hasn't been updated.

There was rail work, hence the visit.

No, This is a proper Hunter Valley Bus as it has the Hunter Valley Buses Logo above the drivers window and front entry door on it and Fleet-lists says it has been at the Thornton Depot around the 9th of February of this year. As to why it still has Foundry Roads accreditation is beyond me, none of the other m/o 66xx buses that were transferred up here have this oversight.

Veolia would transfer buses between depots ie Menai to Bankstown then have the bus run Bankstown routes with accreditation details Veolia Transport NSW Pty Ltd, Acc No. 23537 Menai rather than changing the depot detail to Bankstown I’m not sure if Transdev still does this with the Transdev south accreditation when transferring buses between the former Veolia depots or the newer Kingsgrove (The Crescent) depot

Do not use Transdev as an example as they are still under the original contract where they are still allowed to more freely transfer, compared with the other newer region contracts which cover the other operators

I think it's more about opportunistic cost cutting than discouraging people to travel.

I noticed that there a 5 Volvo B10BLEs in the Transdev to be delivered list, 3 are destined for South Granville and the other 2 for Kinsgrove.

Are they going to replace the B10Ms at 9114, 9116, 9117 or are they going to be used for growth or perhaps be a charter/school only bus?

As they are all 20 year old buses being transferred from Queensland, they certainly would not be growth buses as they would be new buses in Transport for NSW livery.

9114, 9116 and 9117 are all over 25 years old and as such can no longer be used as contract buses so could be replaced or can still be used for charter work so the extra buses could either be replacements or can still be used as contract buses for a few years - only time will tell.

Noticed an Unknown Hunter Valley Buses Volgren SC222 Heading onto the Hexham bridge with the rear right hand side of the bus smashed. Looks like a nasty accident occurred. Don't know why exactly it was heading onto the Hexham bridge.

Also appears Diggers Shuttle Service has a Volvo B8R Custom Denning Adventure on XN plates however I can't remember the full rego. It doesn't have any logos at this stage fitted to it.

That unknown would be Singleton's 2446 MO. Was involved in an accident on Elderslie Rd this morning with a car. Would be heading to Volgren at Tomago to get repaired. They may repaint into the TFNSW Blue and White. Guess it depends on how bad the damage was....

I'm surprised that Volgren are still there. It's not listed on their website (except the map). It doesn't seem to be a Volgren region in terms of potential business.

Darn and I just photographed it the other day leaving the Depot on a School bus run :(

This will be its last photo in the Canary Yellow livery if that is the case.

Volgren At Tomago has been closed for almost a decade, they closed in 2012. I was actually following the bus all the way from Sandgate near the Intercity Bypass that takes you all the way to Jesmond until it the truck towing it turned onto the Hexham Bridge, this was right around Midday on the dot (12PM)
