But there were earlier comments that transferring between different regions was not easy (even for the same operator).boronia wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 10:29 am Presumably they are surplus to current requirements at Hillsbus, so they have moved them to TSA where there is a demand.
If the buses are owned by TfNSW and leased to the operators, it should not be hard to re-assign the leases by mutual consent. This is what happens when there is a change of operator in a region?

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020
Personally, I'd expect more of this going forward in the future. Transport can surely recognise that some operators have excess buses (e.g. Hillsbus) and reallocate those vehicles to other operators who need additional vehicles. Why waste the money procuring new buses when you can simply move around existing buses.

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020
Yes that is the case but this is different as it may be Transport for NSW initiated as opposed to operator initiated.stupid_girl wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 3:43 pmBut there were earlier comments that transferring between different regions was not easy (even for the same operator).boronia wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 10:29 am Presumably they are surplus to current requirements at Hillsbus, so they have moved them to TSA where there is a demand.

And I agree that we are likely to see more of this in the future.

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020
Can anyone please tell me when Hillsbus routes 600/1/3/4/9/625/706 (any others?) moved from Church St, North Parramatta to O'Çonnell Street?
I think it was earlier this year?
I assume that move was related to LR construction activities.
Thanks, Robert

It seemed to have been done quite quickly as public information did not catch up for a while. It seems to be a permanent move.

Either Anytrip is having a moment or if Newcastle Transports new Bustechs have arrived, their showing up on real time tracking as both O405NH's 550s and OH1418 510's.

The new Newcastle Transport Bustechs have indeed arrived and have been spotted in service, although I cannot comment if they are the units described as inaccurately tracking above.ScaniaGrenda wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 8:21 am Either Anytrip is having a moment or if Newcastle Transports new Bustechs have arrived, their showing up on real time tracking as both O405NH's 550s and OH1418 510's.

Another one was showing up as a PMC160 I'm sure, you have to love the use of recycling or incorrectly configured tracking equipment. I Still remember ages ago when one B8RLE (could've been BCI?) was showing up as an L113TRBL.
Hence why I don't rely too much on tracking information accuracy anymore from certain operators, Newcastle Transport being one of them as we're seeing.

Interesting to still see 2741 ST is still registered despite being written off a couple of months back in heavy flooding. Checking RMS's regocheck still shows the registration as active but of course I haven't seen it out. Curious as to why the registration is still active on this withdrawn vehicle?

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020
I noticed recently that on the northern section of route 675 between Richmond and Windsor via the RAAF Base, for most of the route whilst there are bus stops marked on the map, there is no actual signage on the ground to indicate that the bus stops there.
There's also a section within the suburb of Richmond around Faithfull Street with no bus stops either marked or on the map, however the buses just seem to stop where-ever passengers request them to do so.
Are there many other routes in Sydney that operate either as hail-and-ride services, or have unmarked bus stops? It seems unusual for a built up residential area.

Those L113CRLs would be replacements for the small number of 25 year old L113CRBs that are required by contract request to be withdrawn from servicejoshurandazzo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 5:26 pm 14 scania L113CRLs have been transferred from kingsgrove to leichhardt depot is there any reason why?

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020
I Saw one of Newcastle Transport new B8RLE's that looked to be on a delivery run going past Hexham this afternoon just after 3PM, Fleet NO 2826 with no registration plate on the front.
Looks like there's some dark blue wrap at the front on the bus as the NT logo looked very dark.
