So basically recreational complainers.
NSW, the state that embraces mediocrity.

Rebumping this after finding the leaked document uploaded by Marjorie O'Neill (member for Coogee) which SMH and DT didn't provide a linkJ_Busworth wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:22 amThe bus changes that are now being proposed are very different to those in the EIS and the EIS has not been used to guide the changes AFAIK. This is a new leaked document, which actually is new and has different information to the EIS.boronia wrote:https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/lea ... 07-12-AEDT
Wow, "leaked documents"? This has been in public domain since the EIS was released, when?

Never mind the fact it's marked "Sensitive"... but seems whoever did up that document did it in isolation compared to the rest of the network changes (note it still references M10, M50 and 343 ["No change"!], routes that no longer operate, or at least in the case of the 343, not in the form it mentions [Kingsford to Chatswood]).kypros1992 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:32 pm Rebumping this after finding the leaked document uploaded by Marjorie O'Neill (member for Coogee) which SMH and DT didn't provide a link

Check the date - Jan 2020. As posters above mentioned, this is more detail on a story from 12 months ago, so those routes did exist in that form at that time.
Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
Was similar detail in the EIS other than the maps, but this is different.swtt wrote:Wow yeah I don't recall seeing such detail.kypros1992 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:32 pm

Eg. Some routes went to Edgecliff rather than CBD

Don’t really get why they propose to abolish the 314 (Bondi JN - Coogee). It has mostly nothing to do with the CSELR except passes one stop, the Randwick terminus.

Likely due to 313 being a faster option for Bondi Junction Passangers.Jurassic_Joke wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 12:21 pm Don’t really get why they propose to abolish the 314 (Bondi JN - Coogee). It has mostly nothing to do with the CSELR except passes one stop, the Randwick terminus.

It seems that there is 11 months between the current changes to the network till handover to the newly appointed franchised operator.
Region 8 - new network Dec 2020, handover completed by October 2021.
Region 7 - new network Jan 2021, handover completed by December 2021.
Region 9 - new network not yet announced, handover completed by April 2022.
So if we're going by a pattern of around 11 months from new network rollout to handover completion, Region 9 should then see some sort of notice of change of network by March, with the new Region 9 network commencing in May 2021 in order for it to be handed over by April 2022.

Much of the route is covered by the 316 and 317 as well, and to a lesser extent by the 400 and 348. Only the section along Carr St will be missed, and I guess covered by transferring to/from a 372/3 service.Michael Bamborough wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 3:14 amLikely due to 313 being a faster option for Bondi Junction Passangers.Jurassic_Joke wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 12:21 pm Don’t really get why they propose to abolish the 314 (Bondi JN - Coogee). Note that is dated 6 April 2020 and was reported back then. A lot could have changed since then.swtt wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 11:20 pm Reading further:

It'll be the biggest joke if the government largely retains the bus routes as they are but cuts the frequencies dramaticallytonyp wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 8:58 am Marjorie is whipping up the rage:

These people don't know what they're asking for....
(tbh we don't even know what the "final" network will look like yet, as it's still yet to be released!)
Re: CBD & South East Light Rail
Why are they at Waverley depot? Services around there aren't what will be affected...

Re: New bus network arising from CSELR (L2/L3) opening
But no actual announcement on TfNSW sites yet?
e.g. There's "cuts" to 400, but how much? I can't see the route folding entirely. It could even be "cut" as in cut short, i.e. same frequency remains but terminates at a different location to make the route shorter.

Of course, the SMH article doesn't mention any new routes:

Some additional observations:
- 309 is basically reinstated to Port Botany on the southern end (pre-2018)
- With through-routing of 307 and 352, there's essentially a direct bus from my former home in Botany to my workplace in Newtown.... but I have already moved out of Botany for 2 years already
- The new 303 will be a relief for UNSW students travelling from Mascot, as there is finally a direct bus to the upper campus of the uni that is NOT 400 (which is always full and infrequent).

Some observations
*320 curtailed to operate between n Rosebery and Gore Hill, will this transfer from region 6 to region 9?
*370 curtailed to operate between Coogee and the University of Sydney with route 469 introduced Leichhardt and University of Sydney, the latter to be operated as part of region 6
*400 axed, replaced by route 350 that will operate between Bondi Junction and the Airport, but via Coogee and Maroubra in lieu of Randwick and Kingsford and 390X that will operate between Bondi Junction and La Perouse
*420 curtailed to operate between Burwood and Sydney Airport

I'm surprised Route 320 still continues on to Gore Hill... but the southern end is now shortened to Rosebery instead of Mascot.

I note that 308, 320, 348 and 389 are coloured R9 routes instead of the light blue (other regions). Doesn't necessarily mean they will be transferred to R9 though.Linto63 wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 11:33 am Some observations

So standby for all the complaints about "my bus service has been cancelled" because they didn't bother to read further.
