Many peculiar people have lived in the area south of Heatherdale over the years.

I used to live at 148 Rockingham Drive, Clarendon Vale. My oldies house held the highest sale price there for years.

They're not all bad. Albert Park and Middle Park are among Melbourne's most expensive and well-serviced suburbs. The ones in Sydney are all vile, however.

Even in Sydney, Harris Park isn't that bad... at least the police patrols are less frequent than the bus services, and I don't recall many times the 906 bus was cancelled because it had rocks thrown at it unlike some parts of Sydney.

Likewise Granville isn't perfect but there are a lot more suburbs of Sydney I'd prefer not to have to live in...

Don't you dare rag on Eltham - just remember that the drongos hanging around the station are not necessarily representative of the suburb (as opposed to myse... oh, damn!).

While we could basically put anywhere with large public housing estates on this list (hello Broadmeadows!), my pick for worst suburbs would be basically any large outer-suburban development in the past 10-15 years - all near-identical McMansions lining identical streets, all with no fences because everyone's shut inside or out back. Anything developed by Delfin is immediately suspect - yes, I'm looking at you Caroline Springs, Craigieburn and Laurimar (and how DARE you call yourself "the new Eltham", Laurimar - I have yet to see a single mudbrick house there!).

Though I do agree with some of the choices, my contribution would be Plumpton - particularly that shopping centre. (Something about an unusually high proportion of single mothers - at least when I had to go there once - strikes me as a place I'm not too comfortable with).

(A couple of my friends have said that Lalor Park would be a candidate for this as well - one used to live in Seven Hills, the other in Lalor Park itself).

Hahahaha! Where do I start??

North: Balga, Mirrabooka, Girrawheen, Koondoola, Beechboro, Lockridge, Clarkson, Butler, Quinns Rocks, Carine, Bassendean (North of the Railway Line).

South: Hilton, Willagee, Booragoon, Coolbellup, Hamilton Hill, Spearwood, Kwinana, Leda, Rockingham, Warnbro, Waikiki, Shoalwater, Coodanup.

East: Woodbridge, Midland, Stratton, Swan View, Koongamia, Belmont, Cloverdale, Redcliffe

South East: Queens Park, Bentley (Especially around Dumond St :P ), Cannington, Beckenham, Langford, Thornlie, Gosnells, Huntingdale, Maddington, Southern River, Champion Lakes, Kelmscott, Camillo, Seville Grove, Armadale, Wungong (The Ghetto as it's been nicknamed by a few people)

Probably several more for Perth, but they are the ones that come to mind at the moment

Another one is Chirnside Park in Melbourne, plenty of ferals with body piercing in every orifice and just about every car in the area has My Family stick figures in the rear window.

I am guessing you mean the Camlet St/Kentish St area of Mt Gravatt East? A lot of undesirables...luckily I'm in the good part!

Here is my list...

Acacia Ridge
Boondall
Browns Plains
Goodna
Inala
Redbank
Tarragindi (never used to be bad) :(
Woodridge
