Philippines "new normal"

Post by Bjwh86 »

Hi everyone,

Currently in the Philippines as the country enters General Community Quarantine from June 1, Bus companies are slowly restarting services under the "new normal".

What this means is that companies that operate air conditioned buses are now changing their seating to 3 single seat rows.

This has currently been done by DLTB co and Ceres Liner.

On non air conditioned "regular" buses which are 2×3 seating, The middle seat on yhe 3 seater is to be left vacant as is the aisle seat on the 2 seaters.

Sk Metro Manila is now back under Enhanced Community Quarantine and the IATF has set the guidelines for this classification from August 4 to August 18 which includes resuspending all forms of public transport in Metro Manila.

Yesterday morning, There seems to have been issues with loading buses at the newly opened stops on Manila's Route E (EDSA Carousel) where buses were lined up because of busesloading/unloading on the road aswell as in the bus bay.

These buses in the video are all operating Route E EDSA Carousel services which is 1 of 35 "rationalised routes" of the city bus network.

As of 28 September 2020, the Manila EDSA busway system will go cashless, with passengers only allowed to use the beep card to tap in and tap out. On 1 October 2020, i believe it will be extended to UV express vans and jeepneys.ImageImageImageImage

Update to the above.

The Department of Transport is suspending the implementation of beep cards on the EDSA Busway due to the purchasing fee of the card (PHP80 = $AUD2.30) not being waived.Image
