By reducing the air pressure to 11 psi via exhaust valves on launch shafts as the train approaches it not only saves money with reduced tunnel resistance but it saves making such a strong nose like here at 6.20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_Sa1YHmxog

This 747 can carry 139t https://www.airbridgecargo.com/en/page/37/boeing-747-8f and would be faster loading/unloading with the nose opening and great for international freight.

As there are about 20,000t per day on trucks going between Sydney and Melbourne overnight it equates to over 100 of these planes or 10,000t of fuel where Japanese maglev trains could do the trip 8 hours faster than trucks overnight using electricity and making the Japanese maglev in a single 11psi tunnel viable Sydney to Melbourne with passing stations at Canberra and Albury.

While I believe in cooperation between countries to develop a modified Japanese maglev that has an international standard guideway for ISO carriages and overnight container trains, competition between 10 separate contractors from the ten launch shafts between Parrahub and Canberra would not only keep the cost down but allow smaller players to innovate.

At present there are over 50,000 flights per year between Sydney and Melbourne @100 tonne jet fuel per flight = 5,000,000 tonne per year.

Also at present there are 1,000,000 trucks between Sydney and Melbourne @ 0.5 tonne diesel each trip = 500,000 tonne per year.

The very clever lady from partner said on ABC about Scott Morrison not being invited to the climate change summit by Boris Johnson because of our climate change attitude that it will be mainly on what our coal customers rather than us which I had not thought of. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-03-18/ ... t/13257978

I saw a lady on ABC say buildings should be designed so fresh air is drawn in like the Parrahub units. https://www.abc.net.au/news/health/2021 ... /100444884

As Japans new prime minister wants to preserve trade with China it may be a good time for Japan and China to develop an international guideway that would take ISO carriages and overnight container trains between Sydney and Melbourne saving the 5,000,000 tonne of jet fuel every year and making Scott look good for all those who want net zero emissions while keeping fares lower than air travel.

A Melbourne doctor on ABC just said negative pressure rooms are hard to find but Parrahub has 5,376 negatively ventilated units plus eventually there will be a train to Melbourne to eliminate the 5,000,000 tonne of fuel burnt every year by planes on that route and Parramatta station is too small.

I replied to HenryMidfields here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nEaa3UI5QA&t=4s

“As it only takes 24 minutes to go Gosford to Hawksbury station but 1 hour 17 minutes to get from there to Parrahub a single tunnel of 20 km could do it in 15 minutes saving over 1 hour and eliminating upgrading the road north of the river.”

Does anyone know if all the containers that come to Australia are the standard ones or are some the North American ones too wide for our roads?

Edit
I think now they are just longer and higher but no wider, my bad.

It says here that the Chinese HSR cannot take freight trains https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB0N6Ne2LwI but I said a Sydney to Melbourne tunnel can.

As the Nationals have had their way I think there would be many voters who want to go green and build the Parrahub to Canberra section especially if Labor would support it

After watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB0N6Ne2LwI I realised that a single tunnel has no weight restrictions and with SCOMO being dragged to the Nats and an election coming perhaps now would be a good time to do stage one.

I believe you have to be doing to learn and what a great way to learn as well as making Canberra 20 minutes from Sydney and eventually saving most of the maintanance on the Hume.

As HumeLink is now going to cost so much perhaps this new method could put a cable in the Melbourne/Sydney tunnel https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... ansmission

I would love to see Gladys build Parrahub as she knows all the contractors and as one tunnel operator said to me at the Chatswood dive site “she has got balls”

True she let her heart rule her head but at least she never dismissed $500,000,000 as not much like Labor.

After seeing the $1b a year spent on blankets to prevent the ice melting I have turned a bit greener and I think a lot of Australian voters would like to see the proven Japanese maglev connect Sydney/Melbourne saving 5,000,000 tonne of jet fuel per year.

When the Sydney Opera house was built it cost 14 times what was predicted so they started the Opera house lottery and when I suggested to the NSW Labor government that there could be a type of Lotto with 2 off the plan Parrahub units to be won each day, they responded by sending me an email thanking me for the idea to sell lotto which I never did.

Maybe the present NSW government may think about how it would ease housing and unsustainable homecare.

Just imagine the German Autobahn as a single lane road.

You have the latest Mercedes Benz trucks carrying a heavy load, and a bunch of BMW M Series cars.

Can you see the problem?

Most of the palletised freight goes by road overnight and people between 3am and midnight, so I cannot see any problem with 700 km/h Japanese maglev where you have no maintenance issues.

Most people think Sydney and Melbourne will still be there in 50 years and plane and road transport price may be ten times that of today with twice the amount of planes and road freight, however with the no maintenance 700 km/h Japanese maglev fares will still be a fixed $50 and container trains still $2,000 per container.

I know politicians generally are focussed on the next election but the general public are more concerned about their children and grandchildren and they vote.

After watching Paul Keating I thought If the 20 hardrock TBM are ordered from China they may settle down a bit as they would not want to upset a good customer and the $4b would mean the 10 separate contractors would get a bit less per kilometre.

The Australian Labor party is generally the side with the big ideas so what about they get some of the voters who want to see a plan to reduce our carbon emissions while transitioning our unemployed coal miners.

Sydney and Melbourne are over 5 million each and growing so even though the ROI is only $1b the daytime fare would remain at $50 while an overnight container would remain at $2,000 even though it would beat any truck by 8 hours.

If they say they will commit to the $60b single 11 psi tunnel 700 km/h Japanese maglev over 15 years starting with Sydney to Canberra I am sure that NSW would kick the can as it desperately needs to do something anyway.

It seems that sometimes there is a niche and to me I suggest a maintenance free 700 km/h Japanese maglev between Sydney and Melbourne Australia in a 14 meter diameter, 11 psi tunnel with passing stations at Canberra and Albury.

It would reduce the time between Sydney and Canberra from 2.5 hours to 20 minutes and allow daytime passengers end to end as fast as a plane saving 5,000,000 tonnes of jet fuel per year while due to having no maintenance could take overnight container trains to freight sidings 8 hours faster than any truck allowing for next day delivery.

This is still the most popular comment here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpPcTPU1Z2c and I think as the first stage would take five years and $20b it would need bipartisan support which my gut thinks would get if SCOMO wants to upskill the unemployed coal miners but not the other way around.

This is the email I sent to Scott Morrison yesterday.

Hi
At present there are 700,000 trucks between Sydney and Melbourne each year when an overnight Japanese maglev overnight container train could do it 8 hours faster from one siding to another.

As each train can earn $100,000 it would subsidise daytime fares less than planes saving 5,000,000 tonne of jet fuel per year and that is before these cities double over the next 50 years.

With this in mind it is obvious that Parrahub will be needed in the future sometime and to overcome the Sydney housing shortage I suggest a lottery where two off the plan units could be won every day.

Is this possible?

Regards Eddy

I had a walk around the Parrahub site today and noticed that many houses are ready for the bulldozer and with the state government wanting to sell off lotto completely it may be a good time to start a Parrahub lottery.

If 4,000,000 $1 tickets are sold daily it would only take 6 months before there is sufficient to buy everything within Church, Boundary, Inkermann and Lansdowne with 2 0ff the plan Parrahub unit winners each day so the 300m diameter by 100 m deep excavation can start.

As many people think the only way they would ever get a unit twice as big as a house is if they win one, I think there would be no trouble selling tickets especially if the odds are very good.

Although I do not believe overnight container trains can use steel rail there is no weight restriction on Japanese maglev in a tunnel allowing the same line to be used for daytime passenger trains.
