Red Bus services

Are Red Bus changing from Iveco's to BCI's as there is a new unregistered BCI fleet number 33 floating around at the moment.

I notice this new addition is now on their fleet listing as 8273 MO.
They've been a very committed Iveco customer since 2003.
Is there some supply issue with the Iveco Metro beyond this year ?

The BCI’s are cheaper and it has the same running gear as the Ivecos.

Might be if on TV plates or country operator. But as operator of Region 7 Outer Metropolitan does it make a difference ?
My understanding Transport NSW takes the bill, unless the operator gets a credit for saving the govt. money.
I've read somewhere issues possibly with Iveco Metro meeting certain changed standards beyond this year.

I'd like to say their perhaps probably experimenting, this isn't their first Chinese / BCI order as there is already a few in the fleet (in small numbers) but they are coaches, not low entry service buses. Maybe they wanted to see how the BCI holds up as a daily service bus for them?

I'm going to take a wild assumption and say unless we see more BCI low entry orders for RBS, then their probably still happy with Iveco. As Centralian points out, Perhaps there is just an ongoing issue with Iveco currently that will probably be ironed out over time and this is what RBS has settled on for the time being.

If the operator leases them from TfNSW, the lease fee is probably lower?

It was BCI's 2000th bus. It's also in a new style so it looks the same as a Citirider E

I mean, I like the back though! It’s just that it doesn’t look great in the TfNSW livery.

White is more than likely to mean it's a demonstrator bus & chances are it's more than likely on a standard issue plate instead of the usual xxxx MO series.

Did you see this bus operating revenue service by any chance?
