Hardly "just like Brisbane Transport" the chassis might be the same but the body style is totally different. Much better comapred to sister company in Melbourne Skybus who have identical style units with the same body.

You can also add 5741 and 5742

So to update the fleet list the only buses in blue at the moment are 5701 to 5709 , everything else is in translink colours besides the optares are still white.

Also new for Caloundra depot for trail of 12months are 5 yutong electric buses in January 2021,more on this when closer to date.

Whats the go with these new Optares? Was told they were transferred a month ago. Temporary? Noosa Go Loop buses? Modernized piecarts?

Well the answer AirBusTrain these optares are now part of the sunshine coast fleet, they did return to sky bus on the Gold Coast to help out for a couple of months and now back they will mainly be used for shuttle work or charters and the Easter/Xmas loop in Noosa as well,so both vehicles 5510 - 5511 are based at Caloundra depot.

Sunbus Cairns update: Slowly the Cairns fleet is being refurb'ed with the exterior paint being updated to white. Currently the buses that have been refurb'ed and are white are as follows: 2601-2606, 2608-2612, 2621, 2637-2638, 2642, 2696-2699, 2704, 3600 and 3704.

Also to note, 3624 has been transferred from Townsville and has been in Cairns for some time now. Ex Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle units 2696 (Bustech ADI, rego: 12 ADI), 2697 (Bustech ADI, rego: 165 SKZ) and 2698 (Bustech ADI, rego: 176 SKZ) and now based in Cairns on regular timetabled services. Not sure why these buses are on public bus routes given they're mostly high-floor with coach seating.

2699 has been dedicated to only 4 drivers due to limited part availability in Cairns (at least from what I'm told).

The Cairns Sunbus depot is also now home to about 7 Loves Bus school buses (I haven't seen the fleet numbers as yet).

Guess that makes sense seeing CDC has gotten ahold of the contract for Go Noosa - Noosa Council.

This is where the Sunbus fleet changes go?

Anyway former Sunbus Townsville 301 DBP, Mercedes Benz 811D Alan B denning Vario has been listed for sale on Manhiem auctions at Moorebank as a reparable write off. At some point when it moved to NSW it had it's registration changed to NSW plates on CL53ME but they expired on the 28 September 2017.

The bus was also reregistered as a panel van at some point (date unknown)

News from the Sunshine Coast Q

The Optares have returned from Melbourne after helping out with the Australian Open Tennis and now getting ready for the Easter Shuttles in Noosa ,but only one of the original optares return that been 5510 but her sister 5511 has since been transferred to Telford in Sydney so in her place we have unit 11 (Rego 230 XSL) which was part of the Gold Coast fleet, so unsure if it will get a new fleet number, maybe been 5512 ? Shall wait and see
Thanks
