Re: October Bus Timetable changes
Woo hoo. The J1 is now servicing LMHS. Golden Grove now has access to this hospital. How many track buses are surplus to needs? M44, G40, J1/J2 and now 502 is being through-routed during the week. We may see less track buses doing “silver” work on other routes like 300, G10/G20 etc. Sent from my iPh...

October Bus Timetable changes
5AA led their 5:30am and 6:00am news about the changes due on the 18th (that’s what I thought I heard!!)
Three points.
- reducing the number of empty buses along Currie/Grenfell Sts
- 200 more buses a week servicing the NRAH
- improved services to the LMHS.

I saw 1521 on ANZAC Hwy today running Not In Service driven by a TT driver.
Are buses being moved around depots already?

Re: BUS ROUTES TO BE SCRAPPED IN DRIVE FOR SAVINGS
You could argue that the whole Outer North needs looking into. No bus services in Craigmore after 9pm. That’s a joke. Could you run a trial for a service from Gawler Station to Munno Para Shops? There are new parts of Parafield Gardens and Globe Derby Park that have no public transport. Sent from my...

Re: BUS ROUTES TO BE SCRAPPED IN DRIVE FOR SAVINGS
I would not be surprised if the 415 disappeared and they extended the 545 or C2 to cover golden grove/greenwith and salisbury heights and salisbury park through to salisbury itself.all we need is southlink losing most of the north(560/415/430/404/405/400/401)to cover this part of the map and torren...

Re: BUS ROUTES TO BE SCRAPPED IN DRIVE FOR SAVINGS
So they would look at routes like the 224, which competes or compliments (depends on your views) the train between Mawson Lakes and Salisbury? The 263/265 services along Anzac Highway? They were cut on nights and weekends (I think) and returned. And made a Go Zone. Does anybody remember the service ...

Re: Torrens Transit to acquire Light City Buses
I have it on very good authority that Southlink are submitting a tender for the Outer North East Services when the tenders come up. Also, Southlink will be tendering for the G10 service (and I assume the G20/G21/320 as well) as a stand alone service to be run out of Lonsdale and Pooraka. Sent from m...

Re: O-Bahn commuters left behind by full buses
A really silly thought entered my head today. It may work. It may not. And it may have to come with extra services. May have to. You leave the track at TTP, you run express from the city to TTP. You leave the track at Paradise, you run express to Paradise. Run a C1T every 5 minutes to service all in...

Re: Torrens Transit to acquire Light City Buses
I have been thinking about C1/J1 Service, and would the C1 head west again. I have some thoughts that may work, but need some more thoughts. Extend C1/C2 to Adelaide Airport only. Run the service express from NRAH via Port Rd and Henley Beach Rd. Sir Donald Bradman Drive Services will not detour int...

With the development of Live West at West Lakes, should the B10 be rerouted down Brebner Drive? Gives alternate bus access to these residents.

What could work too is a service that follows the 178 from Paradise, heads down Gorge Rd and runs express down Lower North East Rd and Payneham Rd to the city.

Re: Is All Door Boarding Really Working?
I don’t think passengers understand the entire “all door boarding” times. AdelaideMetro clearly states the times on their website and the locations. But, passengers seem to want to board on all doors at all times at all locations. For what the intention is for, I don’t think it is a success. Sent fr...

Re: Is All Door Boarding Really Working?
I had cause to catch a extremely full M44 around 3:15pm Friday outside Internode. One lady wanted to get off the Centre door. The driver was loathe to open the doors in fear passengers would just try and pile on a bus that could not take any more passengers, other than through the front door. Sent f...

Re: Is All Door Boarding Really Working?
I thought all door boarding was in the city and interchanges only. I was on an artic 101 a few weeks ago. A migrant to the country slipped on through the middle door along Marion Rd. I told her that the bus did not go to Marion. Clearly, some passengers think all door boarding is at every stop. Sent...

A handful of extra night services only?
Gates open at 7am Saturday for everyone to have a pit walk. No mention of any early services.

Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
There was (or still is) a Morphettville shift that included a 541 then a 502 round trip, then NIS to Morphetville after the 502. It was in effect in mid 2015. This time last year there was a 502 which left Salisbury around 9:30pm or 10:00pm. It was a Morphettville shift. Once it got to Paradise, it...

Re: Public Transport Fares in the 1970's and 1980's
My memories started in the 1970s. I used to get the route 16 on some days to get to school. Get on at stop 8 and get off at stop 10 and it cost $0.05. It cost me $0.10 to get into the city and my mother $0.15 as she was a pensioner. At some point the fare did go up to $0.20, which is my memory from ...

My rant on the AdelaideMetro Facebook page this morning. It will not get followed up I gather. I wish to make a public complaint about your services on Sunday 14/01/18 and the poor service given by your Information Line on 15/01/18. I caught the 265 that left Glenelg at 9:07pm last night towards th...

Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
King William Road is closed from 500pm tonight because of the Tour Down Under .,So 200 buses will be detoured, although this one is a bit off course. I must be tired. I read that as King William Rd as being outside The Festival Centre. I thought Jibb had counted the amount of buses being detoured! [...

Some do and some don’t. Some drivers make you get off at the 253 terminus. It’s hit and miss really.

Re: City Tram Line Extension Works Detours
My goodness. It opened!!
I find it funny. A West-bound tram along North Tce can turn left heading south along King William St.
But a north-bound tram along King William St cannot turn right and head east along North Tce.
