There was a story in the Telegraph on Sat 1/4/06 of a couple wishing to sell a bondi tram that they have They are actually trying to sell the property on which said tram resides. There has been some doubt as to whether the tram is part of the deal, but getting it out of its current position (down t...

I must go have a look sometime.
Yes. There is an entrance at the same level as Coles Express coming down the escalators from Carrington St. You can easily make out the paltforms, and you can walk up to the exit out to Cumberland St.

The tracks in O'Dea Ave have never been covered. They have remained exposed since the system closed. I'm sure that for some time in the past decade or so they were covered by a thin layer of tar. The bus roadway adjacent to Anzac Pde past the SFS/SCG/etc was formerly used by trams. Apparently some ...

The tracks in O'Dea Ave have never been covered. They have remained exposed since the system closed. The cutting down to Bronte Beach is intact, now a car park. The "rosettes" on the sides of buildings can still be found in the CBD and a few older buildings in the suburbs. Quite a few wait...

May I ask, what is the advantage or registering a bus (or any old car) on vintage plates? It is considerably cheaper: try and get a bus (or even a car) registered and insured (CTP) for about $55 some other way. There are some limitations on use, but then again you're not really going to take your p...

Let's suppose 2550 was preserved, should it ... 1. Be painted into brown livery or blue mk2 livery? 2. Have the third door reinstalled or not? 3. Have the turbo taken off or not? On the point of no1, was 2550 ever painted in the brown livery? My understanding is that it wasn't but I could be wrong ...

Here’s and idea to solve the No Standing V No Stopping Issue, ? There really isn't an issue. Motorists in NSW have been used to the NO STOPPING sign for years, and this hasn't changed. In some other states NO STANDING really meant no stopping. Perhaps the designated "S with red circle" sy...

Also with the time limit signs when it's less than an hour, the sign reads 15 MIN P (the min under the 15 with a large P) There are a lot of signs that read 1/2-P or 1/4-P. I thought minutes are normally shown only if it is less than 1/4. THere doesn't seem to be any specified rule for this, so may...

Officially it has been a rule (in fact a Federal law I think) for a long time that you are not permitted to take photographs on/of any defence establishment or airport. Presumably this is now being enforced due to heightened security concerns.

The photo on news.com site shows the bus on its roof just behind some guardrail. Looks like it had rolled over from a higher level.

Probably the driver has tried to take a short cut to go to Kiama on the way through to Gong.

Not to mention the health benefits of a quick walk, rather than sitting down in the one place for up to 5 hours non-stop.

Where does the RB hino fit into this? The Hino RB, aka Hino Rainbow, is a rear engined midi Hino. I think it has leaf spring suspension, or "B-type" suspension. Other chassii that were exported to Australia included the RC420P chassis which was used for both coach and route bus work, and ...

Re Scanias:

The first trucks released here in the 60s were Model 80, not sure if the 0 was a predecessor to the 1,2,3,4 series. I don't think any buses came here in that era.

Confusingly the current 124 series can be specced with a 11 litre or 12 litre engine, there is no 114 model.

B55-B59 are the product codes they had similar in Leyland having similar numbers as well. For example, the Titan (London T class) is B15 and the Lynx is B60. The B15 and B60 used by Leyland were development project numbers, the actual production model codes followed prior Leyand practice as TN and ...

I think the future of Edgecliff is still under a cloud. Plans are still floating around to build another apartment block on the site.
