Re: Where to find the VIN number on a 1986 austral tourmaste

Hi There, I have access to Queensland Transport vehicle records so can assist you here. As your vehicle is pre-1989 it therefore did not require to have a VIN number (as this was a requirement from 1 January 1989 onwards). Consequently, vehicle identification was left up to the manufacturer. In this...

Re: Translink S1974 (from Jeff)

The picture is so poor quality you can't even work out the registration of the vehicle.

And as you have been told before, Brisbane Transport information is managed externally - it is NOT on Bus Australia.

Re: City Sightseeing bound for Brisbane

The bus shown is a Brisbane Explorer one - if it is along the same lines as Sydney where the operation is Sydney Explorer it would not be City Sightseeing which I believe is a different franchise. Can anyone clarify that? It must be an interesting arrangement as City Sightseeing were listed as the ...

That's dead wrong.

From the information I have at hand, their original factory was located at 12 Production Avenue, Ernest but later moved to Burleigh Heads on 18/10/2004.

Re: Rail & Private Operator Observations September 2014

I don't have any details unfortunately, but I have seen a new articulated bus running around Townsville for Campbells Coaches. I have passed it twice but had an obstructed view. I'm thinking BCI. Will post more details if I see it again. It's a Bonluck CityStar - registered 044VAI. It's identical t...

Re: QLD Private operators. 2014 (A)

The Straddie Flyer bus actually belongs to Glynn & Helene Ross - owners of Stradbroke Island Coaches and Coolum Coaches.

It appears they've taken on the shuttle service which was formerly operated by two ex council buses.

Some jurisdictions yes, but you just have to look at Tasmania and New South Wales who don't impose the same standards.

Does anybody know at what age Translink requires/or would like a bus to be replaced under their route contracts? Re: Watt? bodied AEC

That body styling was DEFINITELY NOT just used on Fords...in fact I had thought I'd identified this vehicle, but it was a Leyland Leopard of 1962 vintage.

So there's an approximate date for when this look was in fashion.
