Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Hi Route 506 From my reading of it you're right that 224, 225 and 228 and 560 have been removed. Looks like nothing will run down Salisbury Hwy unless the 411 gets modified a bit? TT14 replaces some of the 225 it looks like and TT15 seems to be a very shortened 228. And TT16 appears to be a modifie...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Thanks for posting Admet75! Looking at that document I can’t agree that they have simplified the numbering system. Some aspects have gone back to the 80s style of Route numbering but I think this will confuse passengers a lot more. If the routes are similar or the same leave the route numbers the sa...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Simplified route numbering If nothing else, cutting back or entirely eliminating the alphabet soup route numbering (and associated route variations) will be a tremendous step in the right direction for ease-of-use, and could allow for greater service frequencies to be provided, where needed. Absolu...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Also it seems the 271/3 Go Zone will be extended all the way to TTP but via the northern portion of the existing 503 route. I think the 361 may be rerouted to go via Grand Junction Rd and Reservoir or North East Rd now instead? That may mean the end of both the 503 and 507 routes? Also of interest ...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
It'll be interesting to find out why SL got shafted. I reckon they've done pretty well over the years and executed the Noarlunga Line shutdowns and Footy Express services quite well. What can Busways do that SL can't? I must agree here. I always found SouthLink very reliable with both Outer North a...

Re: HISTORY of ADELAIDE - BUS, TRAIN & TRAM ROUTES
Just wondering if anyone here would have a list or even a link to see all of the numbers that have been used for STA/Trans Adelaide, Adelaide Metro etc routes since going to 3 number routes and also their destinations. Obviously current Routes are easy but the last time that route number was used ie...

Re: Replacing alphabetical prefixes
Going back to old route numbers is ok in some areas where the numbering is simple (such as 106), but why would you have buses going up Flagstaff Rd numbered 212, 218 & 219, but then you have numbers in between - 213, 215, 216 & 217 which do not go up Flagstaff Rd. All Flagstaff Rd routes sh...

Re: Replacing alphabetical prefixes
I definitely think our system needs to be simplified and sooner rather than later. It shouldn’t be too hard and will make it easier to follow/use surely. My suggestions are below C1/J1 City to Elizabeth 530 City to Golden Grove 532 City to TTP 540 (already exists) City to Glenelg via Airport - 275 ...

Re: [Jan/Feb 2020] SA Transport observations
Yesterday I saw O-Bahn bus 1140 broken down at Nelson Road, Para Vista. It looked as though it may have overheated or had an oil leak but I didn’t get a close look. Hoping it’s nothing serious after that bus had a fire a few years back.

Re: New app for Adelaide Metro Buses
I use Next There app on my iPhone and it’s overall very good. Just noticed the last couple of days that the vehicle ID has disappeared when you press the i button. Does anyone know if this is an issue with this app or general real time?

2546 was reversed into by a van today at Stop 37C Montague Road, Ingle Farm. Was parked behind the 560 and not sure what the van driver was looking at but certainly not the bus with a blinking indicator! All appeared okay as it drove off shortly afterwards

Re: [Sep/Oct 2019] SA transport observations
There was a rumour last week that Scania Artics R806-R807-R808 would lose their "R" and become O-Bahn buses. Looks like it is going to come to fruition as R806 was at Scania this morning with a new dome light. R803-804-805 are also going to be prepared for O-Bahn use. Interesting to note,...

Remove the 222 services. Change the 224 to run to and from the city via Port Wakefield Road. Change the 228F to 228. Extend 225M to Gepps Cross via Mawson Lakes Boulevard, extend 229 (feeder) to Gepps Cross (25). Maintain the 224X and 228X but change 225F/X, 229F/X to 225 and 229 to maintain the Ma...

They look like neat little buses. Love the stop buttons on the back of the seats! Thanks for posting these pics.
Will there be any specific routes these little guys will be on? I ask because I know the two similar to these up at Gawler are only on Dial A Ride services unless that's now changed.

The Belair line doesn't even get enough passengers to fill a mini bus during quiet times (eg Sunday evenings), so running a 3 car set there would be a ridiculous waste of electricity in my opinion. The Grange and Outer Harbor lines currently operate with one car diesel sets after hours, so the Bela...

Best Adelaide Hills bus circuit. I did a great, two and a half hour Hills circuit on Thursday - around two of our best known parks and through some of the best, historic (old buildings) parts of the Tiers country. The city 822 bus at 2.30 takes you all the way to Stirling, heading up precipitous Gr...

Spotted Scania BusTech 1999 (Rego XS03BG) in service this afternoon, doing a 157 and 144G when I saw it. I guess we now all wait with anticipation of what fleet number the next BusTech rigid will be bearing? I would think 1020 upwards would make sense or even 1040 upwards if they wanted to leave ro...
