Re: Private Operators July 2015

Anyone has any idea what this bus is? I couldn't seem to find it in fleetlists, and the bus has no accreditation as well. Spotted outside UTS library at the bus parking along Darling Drive. 16/7/15 around 5pm (Picture snipped to save precious bandwidth) Might be the rebodied Leyland ERT1/1 Worldmas...

Re: Rare and interesting car sightings

I do agree with Chuboy - the industry has died because it failed to adapt, and plus Fords and Holdens chew too much petrol compared to the similar sized Mondeos, Octavias and Jettas everyone is buying now. Not to mention that GM nor Ford have the time or money anymore to deal with its Australian ope...

Bonnyrigg's been empty since last year-Charterplus now uses the old Westbus depot at St Marys. Girraween got handed back over to Baxters Bus Lines.

Re: Use of Back Door on Buses

It should be the responsibility of passengers to not make contact with closing doors, punishable by a fine. Just like football players aren't allowed to make contact with a referee. You can't blame the referee. You have a point there, especially considering that it's an $400 fine for forcing the do...

Re: Rare and interesting car sightings

BAE Systems actually offered a custom built Caprice (with all the extra safety stuff the PM needs) several months back but Abbott decided to just buy an off-the-shelf special Beemer instead. Shows how stuffed up our motor industry is without government help. The 3 Series (or 5 Series, I can't rememb...

Those headlights look ugly on those O405s-doesn't seem to work well with the styling on that type of Merc. I'm guessing Transperth ran out of spare Bosch lights yonks ago...

Re: Introducing OPAL Card

Except that most teenagers can travel around by themselves, but won't have credit cards, which is not going to be the case for parkers at the airport. Shouldn't be too hard for a teeny-bopper to get a Debit MasterCard or Debit VISA card but-with CommBank, as long as you're over 16 and have an accou...

Re: Railway Observations - June 2015

It would really help if they had a "next train" by individual station listing. like they do for the ferries at CQ, They had that system at one stage, going back about 15 years, on the concourse of Hurstville, Sutherland, Parramatta and Blacktown, and the Platform indicators would scroll t...

Reality shows are buggering me again. Why can't Seven, Nine and Ten just start a new channel dedicated to that stuff, with each of the three stations holding a 33 percent stake in it? Oh wait, that's a solution too complicated and costly for them! Married at First Sight got renewed for a second seas...

Re: Tasmanian Steam

I was referring to when the TGR/AN Tasrail stopped running normal passenger services on the main network. I still don't understand why they couldn't have kept most of the ex-TGR Hobart suburban passenger network-could have come in handy with any future urban sprawls across the island state. That and...

Sorry for the stupid question, but does Tasmania actually have any railways? It's just that in the photo section you are all like, "whoa, nice photo of that train, you don't see them very often". Tassie does have a few railway lines, but most of the ones still in commercial service are fre...

Re: Anyone have surplus android phone to donate?

That's the main issue with that, there is so limited choice for covers on the more obscure or unpopular models. I've lost one phone to the cracking of the screen just because no-one made covers for my old Huawei Ascend G510. At least since now I am in possession of a Galaxy S5, finding stuff for it ...

Being without ADSL for most of the day because the phone line f***ed up. Internet works but when a call is being made or recieved a loud buzzing sound can be heard. Modem isn't causing the problem. Now I've gotta wait for a Telstra techie to try and fix the issue. The line ain't buried, so it's vuln...

Is that a defect sticker on the windscreen? MO-busfan posted a few more pics of this bus on the Busways Group Past & Present FB page (this being ex-Busways of course), including a closeup of the sticker-it isn't a defect sticker, but rather a notice from Fairfield Council that it would soon be ...

Re: Once upon a time........they came from Adelaide

I always thought the front of the Worldmasters had a resemblance to Sydney's Leopards. They sure sounded the same! I wonder why Adelaide's MTT withdrew these robust buses so early? They were only in their teens and would have been considered relatively modern machines in 1973 and served Adelaide we...
