Re: Real time coming to all services in 2015
Onboard displays would be nice, but not worth to complain about. Their mobile website does everything.

Real time coming to all services in 2015
Announced today that real time systems (similar to what has been on the blue CityGlider and LCBS services for a couple of years now) will be introduced to all operators next year. It's a new system, and the aforementioned will be "transitioned" to it, not time announced yet though. Bay Island Transi...

Re: Rail & Private Operator Observations September 2014
Apparently Logan City Bus Service has 6 additional Volgren Optimus city buses making a total of 12. Fleet numbers are not yet known. This'd be interesting. They only have 4 high floors left to replace, and AFAIK all their low floors are running fine. Also didn't think they'd have any reason to expa...

Whilst there is still a 3 digit number of 3 digit numbered buses left, there's too many.ABS wrote:We are progressively seeing the number of three digit fleet numbers shrinking.
There's now only 284 three digit fleet numbers.
I am surprised to see the Scanias going early with the B10Ls.

Just be thankful they're at least LED finally, not the hard-to-read seven segment crap.08 XDi wrote:Be nice if they had proper side screens too, like everybody else in the region has had since around 2006.

With all the new volvos entering service over the last 6 months or so, has there been the same amount of older stuff withdrawn from service? With the big list of withdrawals last month being fluid, there seems more buses in the active fleet. If the scanias are being 'done up' for G20, Eagle Farm de...

Bustech wouldn't stick a VST on a Scania chassis, so they put their very last original body on it. At least that's what I've heard.

Re: First Volgren Optimus in Translink livery
Wow this looks awesome, can't wait to see it in service.
Shame they went with the ugly seat design though (fabric design, not layout). The lack of rear desto, seat behind the driver and the double rear door is very LCBS, opposite of BT. Very curious as to see what these'll be numbered.

Re: SEQ bus network review
I expect they will either be able to convince Treasury to release a bit more money, or they will have to defer some of the high-frequency upgrades in exchange for simply getting buses running until 5-6pm minimum. They have always told me their plan was to get the route structure right and "worry" a...
